I get so many questions about my hair regularly that I wanted to share some of my tried and true favorite hair products and tools. Find them all below and let me know if you have any questions about any of them!

These are my favorite hair products and tools

Shampoo

I use this once a week when I wash my hair

PUREOLOGY HYDRATE SHAMPOO has been my go-to for over 5 years. I used to feel like even with clean hair my hair still looked stringy and thin. As soon as I started using this, I saw an improvement in my hair. It goes longer between washes, it has body, it’s shinier, and it’s healthier.

It’s a concentrated shampoo so a little goes a long a way and a large bottle honestly lasts me a year.

I had some major hair breakage in 2020, and started using Bondiboost’s HAIR GROWTH SHAMPOO (use code BBTURNS3 for 30% off!) to help heal my hair and make it grow faster. It’s started growing very fast and has become SO much healthier in the last four months since I’ve consistently been using it.

Depending on what your hair needs, both of these are FANTASTIC products.

Dry shampoo

I use this every day. Sometimes twice a day before bed and then in the morning. I spray, let it soak in, and then brush through my hair.

I’ve tried a ton of dry shampoos over the years. These are my top three. I’ve been using SUAVE DRY SHAMPOO for about 4 years, and it’s super affordable.

I also really like DOVE DRY SHAMPOO. Super affordable, smells great, and works amazingly well.

The last is Navy Hair Care’s SAILOR TALK DRY SHAMPOO. It’s higher end and a little pricier, but a little goes a long way and it works amazingly well. Also it’s part of my Merrick’s Mayday Bundle HERE!

Conditioner

I use this once a week when I wash my hair.

When I had a ton of hair breakage last year, I started using the Bondiboost Shampoo and Conditioner HAIR GROWTH SYSTEM. I used to not think conditioner made much a difference, but this conditioner has made my hair grow and improve so much in strength and shine.

Hair Mask

I use this once or twice a month after washing my hair in the shower

This is a deep cleansing and conditioning mask that cleans out any junk or build up on your scalp. It gives your scalp that super clean, tingly feeling like when you brush your teeth with mint toothpaste.

If your hair has been feeling dull and lifeless, seriously try this treatment.

It’s also part of my Merrick’s Mayday Kit and on sale through Friday!

Heat Protectant

I use this before blow drying, straightening, or using any hot tool.

I had some hair damage from using hot tools without using heat protectant.  I found THIS ONE from Bondiboost and I love that it gives you a really nice light mist

It’s 30% off with code BBTURNS3 too!

Volumizer

I use this before air drying or blow drying my hair

I have a lot of hair, but it’s very fine so it can get flat very easily. This volumizing mousse is great for adding body and also keeping my hair smooth and not frizzy.

It’s also included in my Merrick’s Mayday Kit bundle and on sale through Friday!

Anti Frizz Spray

I use this before blow drying or air drying my hair

I don’t like to use hairspray because I feel like it weighs down my hair. Instead, to tame flyaways and to help my hair look super shiny and smooth, I love Navy Hair Care’s STYLE NAVIGATOR SPRAY. It can also be used as a prep spray to protect from heat and smooth frizz, but I love it best as a finishing spray after my hair is curled. It smooths everything, and gives it a shine that rivals a Disney princess. Seriously, I love this stuff.

This spray is 30% off with code MERRICK

Hair brushes

I use this several times a day to brush my hair.

I’ve been using a Wet HAIR BRUSH for years and it’s fantastic. These are only $8, and they’re designed to brush through wet hair without ripping and damaging it. They’re also amazing for little kids with sensitive scalps and easily tangled hair because they don’t pull on your hair the same way a normal brush does.

I even bought a MINI TRAVEL WET BRUSH to take with me when I travel.

Curling Iron

I use this every single day to curl or touch up my curls.

A 1″ inch curling iron is the best size for me to create curls that last. I have a tutorial on how I curl my hair RIGHT HERE!

I’ve been using THIS CURLING IRON for the last two years, and it’s fantastic. But before I got the pricier curling iron, I used THIS CURLING IRON that’s under $16, and it worked perfectly for me for over two years. So you don’t really need anything crazy to get the job done.

Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer/Round Brush

I use this every few weeks when I need to quickly dry and straighten my hair.

Guys, this REVLON ONE-STEP TOOL is life changing. It’s a 2-in-1 tool that dries and straightens your hair.

It creates silky smooth, dry hair in 15 minutes. I have a whole tutorial on how to use it RIGHT HERE.

It does get pretty hot, and I can definitely damage your hair if you use it too much or without heat protectant. So I only use it when needed and always use heat protectant, just so I don’t damage my hair!

Hair Ties

I use these everyday for exercising, ponytails in my hair, and sleeping.

I have a lot of hair and need a good hair tie that keeps my ponytails high and tight, and keeps my top knots in place when I run. THESE L. ERIKSON PONYTAIL HOLDERS are the absolute best.

I even do a loose super high ponytail (with the ponytail holder wrapped around twice) for bed and they don’t leave any creases!

I talk more about them in THIS POST.

Cotton Hair Towel

I use this once a week when I wash my hair.

This HAIR REPEAR TOWEL is specifically for hair – not for your body too! It is made out a soft stretchy cotton knit, and it won’t stretch, damage, or break your hair. I’ve been using it for a year and it definitely makes a difference in the health of your hair!

    Hey Merrick!

I bought some of the Erickson hair bands and Love them!
I was wondering though if you also have a certain Brand/type of Bobby pins that you use and can RECOMMEND? I’ve been on the search for some and HAVEN’T been impressed with what I’ve found so far because my hair is fine and Smooth, but I have lots of it.

Thank you for sharing your secrets. Caring for long hair is absolutely not easy, but if you do everything correctly , the result will not take long to wait. Here everything will work only in a complex – you must monitor your nutrition, choose the right hair care, and also monitor the timely haircut of the split ends, because this is exactly what makes your haircut well-groomed. To give the perfect shape to my hairstyle, I also use scissors for thinning hair. Thanks to each of these stages, the hair looks amazing

  7. Emma says:

Hair needs special care both inside and out. You should not only individually choose hair care, but also follow a balanced diet. Personally, special vitamins helped me a lot with this. There is a Hairfinity phone number here if you have any problems with your purchase

Omega-3s https://www.thehindu.com/brandhub/10-amazing-benefits-of-omega-3-fish-oil/article66364198.ece are essential fatty acids that enter our body with food. This is a real assistant in maintaining female beauty and health throughout the body, from thick hair to a healthy hormonal background.

  9. Emilia says:

Beautiful and healthy hair from nature is no exception, but, frankly, a very rarity. Most of the one must provide proper hair care for this. Moreover, even if there were no special problems in his youth, then over time they will make themselves felt with a considerable probability. And this is far from only because of age. There are plenty of negative external factors: ecology and weather, temperature differences, ultraviolet radiation, unbalanced nutrition, bad habits, unhealthy lifestyle, etc. Pay special attention to the choice of quality tools. At one time, I found many amazing options here https://moneli.lt/produkto-kategorija/prekiu-zenklai/celemi/ . This is the best way to take care of your health
