I’m so excited to share our family football Halloween costumes for this year! We had so much fun putting these costumes together and here are all the details.
Our Family Football Costume for Halloween
We went through a lot of potential ideas this year for Halloween, and none of them felt quite right until I realized that we just needed to go with a football theme cause that has been our life for the last few months.
It was perfect cause we already had Fos and Sanny’s football uniforms, and the rest came together fairly easily.
Details from each of our costumes
Fos was a football player, so he just wore his regular uniform. Easy peasy.
B wanted to be a commentator, so we used HIS SUIT from church, and I bought him THIS WHITE SHIRT since he usually wears a comfy dry fit polo as his church shirt, but he said we needed something a little dressier. He wore THIS TIE, and then we got him a HEADSET and a MICROPHONE with a hand painted cardboard ESPN box, just like the ones the commentators use!
The boys wanted me to be a cheerleader, but I decided against it cause cheerleader costumes were so skimpy. So I went for a “superfan” and busted out all the crazy things I wear to the boys’ games anyway, ha! I did buy THESE AMAZING SNEAKERS and now they’ll be my weekly football mom sneakers.
Philip was a referee, and we got him THIS REF COSTUME, THESE PANTS, and then I made him a little yellow flag out of materials I had on hand at home. He already had a whistle, so that was easy.
Sanny’s costume was the most involved, obviously, but I’m absolutely obsessed with how it turned out. I looked at mascot costumes online and they were absolutely outrageous…$1500-ish for a good one! So I decided to make my own. I found THIS TUTORIAL on youtube to make the head, and adjusted it to be more of a bobcat face shape. I used hot glue and soft foam, felt fabric and faux fur to piece the head together. After I created the foam head and glued the felt and fur onto the head, I made the teeth and tongue out of clay and then baked and painted them and glued them on. I made him a gray shirt to look like bobcat arms, and then he wore his regular football pants and jersey and a set of extra pads we own.
This family football costume just felt so fun and perfect for our family and I love how it turned out!!
What do you think???
