School is out for the summer! This fun and easy “welcome to summer” dinner party is easy to put together, and a great way to celebrate the beginning of summertime.
We celebrated the beginning of summer with a dinner party!
I really love celebrating random holidays, or turning normal days into celebrations. So last weekend I threw a dinner party for my family to celebrate the end of school and the beginning of summer.
Even though I have all boys, I want them to appreciate and enjoy a pretty dinner…and see that it’s not hard to put together a beautiful table for a dinner.
What I picked up for this summer dinner party
I was ordering my groceries from Walmart last week (as I always do), and decided to order all the essentials to make hamburgers for our end of school dinner. I threw in a non-alcoholic sparkling drink too, just to make it feel like a celebration!
I have a Walmart+ membership, so in addition to my grocery order, I also ordered a Hawaiian Shave Ice maker and flavor syrups, plus some water balloons — cause water balloons and shave ice just scream summer, and it was a fun summer surprise for my boys!
Since I love a pretty tablescape, I ordered some pieces of citrus fruit with my grocery order, and then also bought some pretty woven chargers (I know I’ll use these a ton all summer!) and some happy yellow cloth napkins.
A little bit about the Walmart+ membership
My membership to Walmart+ has become my best friend over the last six months — I literally order my groceries every week with it, but they also ship so many other non-grocery things from the store with free shipping (excludes freight and Marketplace items).
Also I love that they don’t mark up the prices for pickup or delivery items – it’s the same everyday low prices you love!
It’s a huge time saver for me to order things online and have them dropped off or delivered straight to my house. I’m serious, Walmart+ is the best friend I didn’t know I needed.
I hope this inspires you to celebrate the start of your summer!

HI Merrick! I absolutely LOVE this tablescape!! Can you tell us what kind of greens you used, and if they’re real or artificial? Thanks!
Evening gatherings shouldn’t be a wellspring of stress! I have a couple of basic hints that will make setting a sharp summer table simple and reasonable! I might have taken a couple such a large number of photographs, yet I truly trust you appreciate them however much I do!
