Skirts are some of my very favorite pieces to wear in the summer! I’ve got three outfits with skirts to show you today with some step by step pictures to show you exactly how to put these together.

These three outfits with skirts are easy to put together and perfect for summer

We’re heading into true summer here in Texas and I’m living in skirts and dresses! I’ve been getting lots of questions about how to wear skirts, so I’m sharing three step by step outfits with skirts to help you put together cute looks for summer with a skirt.

I’ve done a few more of these step by step outfits. I’ve linked a few below!

Skirt outfit 1: Casual Skirt and Graphic Tee

How I put this outfit together and why it works

I started with a really cute CHAMBRAY SKIRT (mine is old but this this one is similar). Chambray is casual, so I paired it with an equally casual tee — a GRAPHIC TEE. If your skirt is a little dressier, try it with a solid colored tee, or one with a simple pattern.

I finished the look with a pair of SANDALS and added to the casual vibe with a BLACK BASEBALL CAP. You could also do a wide brimmed hat in tan or black.

Skirt outfit 2: Feminine Top and A-line Skirt

A little bit about this outfit and why it works

This cute RED SKIRT has a lot of details, with buttons and a tie belt, so we want to keep the rest of the outfit pretty simple. I chose an EYELET YOKE TEE that has feminine details (that fit the vibe of the skirt), but is still comfy and pretty casual.

Then I chose a pair of WEDGED SANDALS (mine are old, but these are super similar). This length of skirt right below the knee cuts off your leg line a bit and can be less flattering to a lot of figures (including mine), so a heel or wedge helps elongate your leg.

Other non-heeled shoe options you could try:

  • Try a NUDE POINTED FLAT (the pointed toe helps elongate your leg)
  • A nude or clear or neutral brown SANDAL without too many straps or clunkiness can give your foot sort of a “bare foot” kind of look and helps elongate your leg

Skirt outfit 3: Midi skirt and knotted tee

Why this outfit works, and how to put it together

Midi skirts are my favorite style of skirt, and this LEOPARD SKIRT is such a good one (and an amazing price)! Since the skirt has a busy print, I chose a SOLID WHITE TEE so that it didn’t compete. You could also do solid black!

Sandals would look really cute with this outfit, but I chose a fun, low cut SNEAKER for more of an edgy, cool girl vibe. You could do another style of sneaker, but keep it sleek and slim so it elongates your legs. Higher cut or chunkier sneakers will become blocks on your feet and weigh down the outfit.

Since the tee is so simple and plain, I added a few LAYERED NECKLACES just for a little visual interest and to help draw attention up to my face.

I live in skirts and dresses as well so this is very helpful. The only issue I have is that I am short-waisted and a little chubby in the belly area so tucking in my shirts doesn’t tend to look the best, but instead makes me look fatter. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hey! What size in the white teE are you wearing? And how tall are you? Thanks!

Great tips. Now a days the craze for makeup is on seventh sky. One of my favourite product for removing eye makeup is Lumin Lash Cream Lash Remover, Sharing the link for your refernce https://www.luminlash.com/product/cream-remover/
