Trying to figure out how to accessorize an outfit? These are four accessories every woman should have in her closet and easy ways they finish an outfit.

Accessories should be a key part of your closet. You don’t need to own one thousand different accessories, but I want you to have at least these four in your closet because they’re super versatile and help finish every outfit.
- Leather belt (you can see my post about belts here)
- Versatile and classic jewelry, like earrings, necklaces, and bracelets
- Headbands – they’re super trendy right now, but I love that they add a little feminine touch.
- Hats – you choose between a fedora, baseball hat, or another style.

1. Adding a belt to an outfit
How does the belt help?
In the BEFORE outfit, this dress gives me no shape. It’s cute and summery with the striped print, but it’s shapeless. Add a belt, and instantly you see my waist and that I have a shape.

2. Adding jewelry to your outfit
How does the jewelry help in this outfit?
I love this outfit – super simple with white jeans and a crisp pinstripe blouse. It’s totally fine BEFORE, and the changes are subtle, but a little stack of bracelets at my wrist and some small hoop earrings just add a little something extra to complete the outfit, and also draw attention up to my face.

3. Adding a headband to your outfit
How does adding the headband help this outfit?
This outfit has a lot going on in the bottom half with a busy print on the skirt. So the headband helps draw attention up toward my face and balance the outfit’s bottom heavy feel.
If you don’t feel comfortable wearing headbands, try a hair scarf or a clip!

4. Add a hat to your outfit
How does the hat help this outfit?
With a basic outfit like this, with no prints or colors, a hat adds some color and also some personality to the outfit. Again, choose which style of hat works best for you, but don’t be afraid to add some color through your hats!
