Heading to an amusement park this year? Here are some cute theme park outfits that you can pull together with things already in your closet!

Let’s chat about cute theme park outfits!

Spring break is almost upon us, and if you’re heading to a theme park for your week off, here are some easy outfit ideas.

We’ve gone to Disney World for spring break, we’ve been to Disneyland tons of times, and Six Flags a handful of times. These three outfit formulas will work for any of those theme parks, and any others you may be visiting.

I have an entire post dedicated to Disney World outfits, if you’re heading there anytime soon.

The most important parts of theme park outfits

The key for any amusement park outfit is COMFORT and LAYERING

The parks open early, so you’ll want something warmer in the morning (unless you’re going in the dead of summer), easy layers you can shed in the afternoon as it warms up, and layers you can add back on as it cools down at night.

Another must is a backpack, especially if you don’t have little kids and won’t be bringing a stroller (I still always bring a stroller unless I’m without my kids). THIS IS MY FAVORITE AMUSEMENT PARK BACKPACK because it holds everything, easily wipes clean, is comfortable to carry, and goes with everything.

My other amusement park essentials:

Amusement Park Outfit Idea #1:

Jeans are always my go-to, so this is a no brainer for me. I’ve worn jeans at almost every amusement park we’ve ever been to! But choose ones that are comfortable and won’t sag throughout the day when you’re hot and sweaty. If it’s super hot, shorts are a great alternative.

Pair with a cute tee (themed ones are always a fun idea!), and bring along a hoodie, pullover sweatshirt, or jacket for those cool early mornings and late evenings.

Of course shoes are the most important part! Instead of a clunky athletic shoe, choose a slim sneaker that looks great with jeans but still gives you lots of comfort. My favorite are THESE ONES! You could also do a comfortable sandal – just choose one that has support so your feet don’t hate you by the end of the day.

Amusement Park Outfit Idea #2

Leggings or joggers, or another pair of soft, flexible pants are a great choice for amusement parks. And if there are water rides, you’ll be grateful to not have jeans when you get soaked! These are my favorite JOGGERS, and these are my favorite LEGGINGS.

Pair your joggers with a cute and comfortable tee (a themed tee would be fun here), or your leggings with an oversized tee or tunic. A sweatshirt is an easy option to tie around your waist during the day, or a lightweight jacket can be rolled up and put into your backpack.

With a casual outfit like this choose a pair of simple earrings to make your outfit feel finished but still match your very dressed down outfit. And if you want a little more face coverage, choose a baseball cap.

Amusement Park Outfit Idea #3

You might feel nervous about wearing a skirt or a dress to an amusement park, but trust me — in the summer, there’s basically nothing better! Just choose one that will keep you covered no matter what kind of ride you’re on.

I wore my striped Merrick White Collection dress to Disney World last year (you can see me wearing it HERE) and it was so incredibly comfortable all day, and kept me nice and cool. It’s knee length, so I didn’t stress about flashing people when I sat down on the floor in line, or rode a ride with my legs dangling.

Bring a cardigan sweater or a lightweight jacket for a little extra warmth, and choose sandals or slim sneakers for your shoes.

I also swapped out the waist tie on my striped dress for this LEATHER BELT BAG and it held my phone, hand sanitizer, and chapstick hands free!

I wrote a post all about our trip to Universal Studios last spring break!

We visited Universal Studios for 2021 Spring Break and I shared all about it RIGHT HERE.

Spring break is almost upon us, and if you’re heading to a theme park for your week off, here are some easy outfit ideas.

We’ve gone to Disney World for spring break, we’ve been to Disneyland tons of times, Universal Studios twice, and Six Flags a handful of times. These three outfit formulas will work for any of those theme parks, and any others you may be visiting. I have round-ups for cute clothes for both Disney and Universal below!

I also recommend wearing a crossbody bag, it holds my phone, hand sanitizer, and chapstick hands free!
