Today I’m sharing all of the outfits for our Europe trip! I’ll compare what I packed versus what I actually ended up wearing.
Philip and I traveled for 10 days in Europe for his 40th birthday last week! We went to Belgium, France, and Switzerland. If you need outfit ideas for a Europe trip, I’m sharing everything I wore.
I shared in THIS POST what I packed for Europe, so I’ll compare what I actually ended up wearing over our 10 days.
EUROPE OUTFITS, DAY 1: TRAVEL DAY, LILLE, KORTRIJK, AND BRUGES
I wore this comfy outfit for a full day of traveling. Our flight was overnight, so I wanted something that felt put together but still allowed me to sleep comfortably on the flight. This outfit was perfect.

EUROPE OUTFITS, DAY 1: BRUGES
When we arrived in Paris, we drove straight to Bruges without changing. As I mentioned in yesterday’s blog post with our full itinerary, we stopped in Lille and Kortrijk on the way to Bruges, so I wore my travel outfit in both of those spots. But when we arrived in Bruges, I couldn’t wait to take a shower and change.
I put on these white pants, which I ended up wearing twice on this trip, along with a cream sweater, and the trench that I wore almost everyday of the trip.
These sneakers are also my favorite for traveling because they’re so comfy for lots of walking, and work with all kinds of outfits. You’ll see me wearing them lots in these outfits!
SIMILAR SWEATER T-SHIRT | J.CREW FACTORY TRENCH (wearing size 2R) | EVERLANE PANTS (wearing size 2) | ECCO SNEAKERS | ABLE CROSSBODY WALLET (code MERRICK15) | MADEWELL SUNGLASSES
EUROPE OUTFITS, DAY 2: BRUGES, GHENT, BRUSSELS
This was one of my favorite outfits from the trip! I loved the layers that gave it lot of dimension, and it was so incredibly cozy. These pants are the same as the Anthropologie olive green pants that I’ve raved about for the last few months, but they’re linen. They’re so, so comfy.
Of course, the trench coat made its third appearance on the trip, and the sneakers made their second!
ANTHROPOLOGIE LINEN PANTS (sized down one size to a 25) | CUTS ALMOST FRIDAY TEE | AMAZON STRIPED SWEATER | J.CREW FACTORY TRENCH (wearing size 2R) | MADEWELL SUNGLASSES | ABLE WALLET (code MERRICK15) | ECCO SNEAKERS | SIMILAR OVERSIZED EARRINGS
EUROPE OUTFITS, DAY 3: BRUSSELS & GENEVA
I saw lots of light wash jeans and TONS of blazers in Europe, so this outfit felt like an obvious choice. I went with a classic striped tee under the blazer, and then finished the outfit with leather loafers. I was glad I brought a second pair of walking shoes in addition to my sneakers. The loafers aren’t quite as comfy as the ecco sneakers, but they’re still very comfy and I could wear them with no-show socks for extra comfort!
LEVI’S LIGHT WASH JEANS (wearing size 26) | BODEN LONG SLEEVE STRIPED TEE (wearings size 2) | SIMILAR LINEN BLAZER (wearing size XXS) | MADEWELL LOAFERS (true to size)
EUROPE OUTFITS, DAY 4: GENEVA
I think this was my least favorite of my outfits. It was nice and chic, but it was just boring. I brought these coated jeans cause they’re super chic and very comfy, but I only wore them this one time and it felt like a waste if I only wore it once.
But I paired it with a cashmere cream sweater, the trench coat (of course), my ecco sneakers, and some sunglasses.

EUROPE OUTFITS, DAY 5: GENEVA, ANNECY, LYON
This day was one of the warmest days that we had, so I wore my first dress of the trip. This dress was so lightweight and breezy with the linen fabric and ended up being perfect. I wore it in the morning with my leather jacket, but took the jacket off part way through the day because it was warm enough.
If you think navy and black don’t work well together, think again…they totally work and I loved this chic and simple outfit!
SIMILAR DRESS | MADEWELL LEATHER JACKET (wearing XXS) | MADEWELL SUNGLASSES | ECCO SNEAKERS | COLE HAAN BLACK WOVEN BAG
EUROPE OUTFITS, DAY 6: LYON AND PARIS
This was the second time I wore these white pants, and loved how fresh they looked with the blue striped shirt. This was the outfit I wore to come into Paris, and with the sweater around my neck and chic loafers, I felt amazing.
EVERLANE WHITE PANTS (wearing 2R) | MADEWELL SHIRT (wearing size XXS | MADEWELL LOAFERS | AMAZON NO SHOW SOCKS | ABLE CROSSBODY WALLET | MADEWELL SUNGLASSES | FRESHLY PICKED BACKPACK | BRIGGS AND RILEY SUITCASE
EUROPE OUTFITS, DAY 7: PARIS
This was the day we went to Versailles, and I needed something that was comfortable for lots of walking, but also good for being outside in the gardens and inside with a million people crowded into the palace. This outfit ended up being great. I wore my trench coat over the top, which would not have been my first outerwear choice with the pencil skirt, but it worked. Then I took it off inside and was grateful for the linen skirt and linen shirt since those were both very breathable. We stood in some big crowds inside while we were on our Versailles tour, so a lighter weight outfit was much needed.
And of course my sneakers were very comfy for lots of walking around the grounds and palace.
SIMILAR SKIRT | BODEN LINEN SHIRT | ECCO WHITE SNEAKERS | MADEWELL SUNGLASSES | ABLE CROSSBODY WALLET
EUROPE OUTFITS, DAY 8: PARIS
On Sunday, I wore two outfits. One to church and to take these pictures in front of the Eiffel Tower, and then we went back to the hotel and changed for the rest of the day when we were going to the Louvre and Notre Dame.
This dress is beyond gorgeous, and I bought it specifically for this trip. If I needed another dressy outfit, I would have worn it as a top with my pleated navy maxi skirt layered over the top of it. It would be a good outfit for another time! Also I think it would be very pretty with a belt around the waist.
I brought these heels specifically for this dress and this day, and ended up only wearing them the one time. I don’t regret bringing them, but I do think it was kind of silly to bring a pair of shoes that I wore for only a few hours. The rest of my shoes got TONS of use.
BODEN DRESS (wearing size 2) | SEZANE HEELS | GUCCI BEE EARRINGS
EUROPE OUTFITS, DAY 8, PART 2: PARIS
This was the outfit I wore on Sunday afternoon after church. This dress is ribbed and SO comfy, and was perfect for an afternoon at the Louvre. I debated wearing my sneakers when we were in the hotel, but ultimately decided to wear my Chelsea boots. It ended up being a great decision because it poured rain several times throughout the day. They’re super comfy for walking, and looked chic and cool with the dress.
Also, are we sick of this trench coat yet? It was the best jacket I could have brought.

AMAZON PLEATED SWEATYROCKS SKIRT (wearing size small) | MADEWELL LEATHER JACKET (wearing size XXS) | BODEN LONG SLEEVE TEE (wearing size 2) | LOUIS VUITTON BAG | WHITE ECCO SNEAKERS
This was our last day in Paris, and it was the day we went shopping for my new designer bag. I was feeling kind of bored of most of my pieces at this point, and wasn’t sure what to wear, so I tossed on this navy skirt and a striped tee, and added the leather jacket. But when we went outside, it was surprisingly chilly so I zipped up the jacket and then loved how it added a cool, chic feel to the outfit, especially with the slicked back (very dirty hair) bun.
This became one of my favorite outfits.
EUROPE OUTFITS, DAY 10: TRAVEL HOME DAY
On the way home, I wore my black leggings, the amazon zip up sweater, my cuts white tee, my trench coat, and my chelsea boots. I forgot to snap a picture, but it was comfy and I felt pulled together.
Here’s what I planned to pack and didn’t:
- DENIM JACKET. At the last minute, I switched my denim jacket for a leather jacket. I’m so glad I did. It was warmer, and a little more chic for my outfits. Good decision.
- SHORT SLEEVE STRIPED TEE: Instead of the short sleeve, I ended up bringing the long sleeve striped tee. So glad I did cause it added warmth and also a little print sticking out at the wrist.
- ABLE JEANS. I realized I had so many pants, jeans, and skirts already, so I left these at home. No regrets. I brought one pair of jeans — my light wash pair from Levi’s.
- BLUSH HEELS. I changed to my black block heels at the last second because they felt like a better fit for my blue floral dress. They’re also very comfy and I didn’t know how much we’d walk with them.
- OUI HAT. I pulled this out of the bag to pack it and was bummed that it looked cheap. I saw this green color all over the place in Europe so it would have been a fun fit there, but I couldn’t justify keeping a cheap looking hat for $50. Also I was glad not to have brought a hat, because with the European’s elevated style, I think I would have felt out of place with a baseball hat on.
- TRAVEL STEAMER. I pulled this out of the case and discovered it was a corded steamer, when I thought it was a cordless one. So I didn’t even bother to bring it!
What I regret bringing cause I didn’t wear it:
- LACE ANTHROPOLOGIE TOP. I had high hopes for this top, but it just wasn’t cute when I put it on. I tried it with several outfits when we were there and never ended up wearing it.
- FLORAL MAXI DRESS. This sat in my suitcase the whole time taking up space, and it was just too bright and tropical for a European trip. I’ll save it for our trip to Mexico next month!
not bad for all the packing I did — I used and was glad I brought almost everything!
loved most of your picks esp. that trench coat..it did look chic! suggestion for the “boring” outfit..a beautiful scarf in a black, cream and maybe red would have been a perfect boredom RELIEVER. fun post

Absolutely love your post, it really helped me on deciding what to pack for Germany 2025 in June. Most posts end up advertising their perks and with little to no useful information. I actually enjoyed seeing the pictures and reading about what you wore. Thank you.
