Basic tee and non denim shorts
So many of you have asked about non denim shorts this year and I’ve been hooked on this wide leg pair since I got them. They’re super lightweight and comfy and this rust color is neutral but still fun.
Since the shorts are wider leg and I chose a boxier tee with it, I want to make sure my waist is defined so I don’t look shapeless.
And then of course adding a chic leather sandal helps elevate the look.
This is a super basic and simple outfit you can throw together and stay as cool as possible on a hot summer day.

Flowy skirt and a casual tee
A flowy skirt is always a good idea for summer. This one is super lightweight and can be dressed up or down.
I paired it with a basic white tee (tucked in to define my waist) and some simple neutral sandals.
Adding a few accessories like a necklace and bracelets helps the outfit feel finished.

Shorts and a Better Than Basic Tee
You can still put together a fun look when it’s sweltering hot outside! Just throw on a Better than Basic top. This one from Anthropologie is just a basic tee, but the sleeves make it SO fun and feminine.
I added a cute hat and some fun sandals, which are both super easy to add and don’t sacrifice comfort.

A casual summer dress
This dress has been on repeat already. It’s crazy comfortable and looks cute dressed up or down.
Wear it with a pair of sneakers, or flat or platform sandals, and you’ve got yourself a super simple outfit that looks like you made an effort.
I added a pair of statement earrings (they’re made of leather so they’re crazy lightweight) but you could go super basic. You could even add a hat if you wanted to!
