Basic sneakers are a closet essential for women. They’re so versatile and can be worn in 100’s of ways. These are the essential sneakers in my closet and 10 sneaker outfits for you to copy.
Do you have a pair or two of basic sneakers in your closet? Sneakers are essential for any wardrobe but are especially important as the foundation of some great momiforms. Sneaker outfits can sometimes look or feel sloppy, but here are a bunch of put-together sneaker outfits you can copy!
Basic sneakers are an essential, do you own a pair?
Basic sneakers are an essential in my closet. These are the kind that are low cut, not athletic, and fairly simple. They can have texture or stitching embellishments, etc, but they should be pretty simple and be able to go with lots of things.
Here are my favorite basic sneakers in my closet (you don’t need each of these, but these are good examples and you could choose one pair to add to your closet).
- Plain white leather sneakers
- These are my number one pair of sneakers. They’re white leather, and no break in required. They are the kind of shoes you should get for amusement parks, site seeing, etc. You can walk miles and miles in them without any discomfort. They’re amazing.
- White fabric sneakers
- These are super comfy and a very bright white. They’re easy to wash and are a stretchy, fabric material. Great for those fresh spring and summer outfits with bright and light colors.
- Gum sole white sneakers
- I like these ones during the winter for a less all-white feel when I’m wearing darker winter colors
White is my basic color of choice, but I’ve linked a few similar options in other colors below!
Basic Sneaker Outfits
1. Wear your sneakers with leggings
Basic sneakers look great with leggings! They’re a casual combo that work really well together. Since the bottoms and shoes are both casual, you want to keep the rest of the outfit casual — I went with a sweatshirt and denim jacket, and it’s a great outfit idea that you can copy for spring!

I just looked up the Ecco sneakers and saw a few recent reviews saying that the quality just changed. Have you heard anything about that or do you have any advice on making sure they still last well?
