Packing for spring break? Here’s my Florida packing list with all the things I took on our week long spring break trip to Universal Studios and the beach.
My Florida packing list
Last week we went to Florida for spring break. We spent three days in Orlando to visit Universal Studios, and then drove three hours north to Amelia Island outside of Jacksonville for three days. I got a lot of questions about my outfits, so here’s my Florida packing list, plus everything I wore during the trip.
DAY 1: Universal Studios Florida
- Short sleeve jumpsuit (mine is old from Abercrombie but this one is similar)
- White sneakers
- No-show socks
- Gold hoop earrings
- Disposable black masks
- Leather belt bag (mine is old and unavailable, THIS ONE is similar)
- Leather backpack
- Sunglasses
- Apple Watch band
- Tile bracelets
- Hair tie
It was pretty warm weather the two days we were at Universal Studios, so I wanted something that was lightweight and comfortable, but also cute.
I brought my favorite jumpsuit (mine is old from Abercrombie but THIS ONE IS SIMILAR) and paired it with comfortable white sneakers and simple jewelry.
I bought a leather belt bag last year for our trip to Disney World, and it’s the perfect size to fit my phone, sunglasses, and room key/credit card/license/fast pass card. Mine isn’t available anymore, but THIS ONE IS SIMILAR.
DAY 2: Universal Studios Islands of Adventure
- White tee bodysuit (I kept it unsnapped)
- Red midi skirt
- White sneakers
- No-show socks
- Gold hoop earrings
- Disposable black masks
- Leather belt bag (mine is old and unavailable, THIS ONE is similar)
- Similar layered necklaces
- Poncho
- Extra Sandals for the water ride
- Leather backpack
- Sunglasses
- Apple Watch band
Day 2 at Universal Studios was even warmer than day 1, so I wanted to wear something super lightweight and breezy. A pleated midi skirt was perfect. It kept me cooler but still modest.
And I love wearing bodysuits with skirts, but I almost never snap them underneath so there’s no discomfort.
Islands of Adventure has the water rides, so we brought ponchos to keep from getting drenched. I also brought a pair of sandals so I could change into those for the ride and not soak my sneakers. It was worth the effort because the water rides leave no dry survivors!
DAY 3: Road tripping to Amelia Island
After 2 days at theme parks, we headed up to Amelia Island for a few days at the beach. It’s a three-ish hour road trip, so I wanted something comfortable, but still appropriate for dinner once we got to the hotel.
This tiered dress was the perfect choice. I tossed on my leather belt bag in the morning when we walked down to get Voodoo donuts before heading out on our roadtrip, but the rest of the day I kept it loose and flowy.
DAY 4: Beach and Hotel Activities
We stayed at the Omni Hotel on Amelia Island, and it had tons of fun things to do on the property. We played mini golf, ping pong, giant chess and checkers, and corn hole, and went to the beach and the pool until it started pouring rain.
I planned to just wear the skirt over my swimsuit, but it was a little bit chilly so the sweater was perfect.
DAY 5: Pool Day
Thankfully we got one nice and sunny day on Amelia Island! We stayed at the pool all day, so a comfortable swimsuit was essential. This one from Summersalt is so good and so comfortable.
I wore my denim shorts and brought a sweatshirt since it was a little bit chilly in the morning.
DAY 5: Nice dinner
- White eyelet dress (wearing XS)
- Similar heels (mine are old from Born – available in a few sizes on eBay here)
- Earrings
On our last night, we went to Bob’s Steak and Chop House for dinner. We dressed up a bit, and this white dress was perfect.
Later this week I’ll be answering some questions about our trip to Universal, so if you’re planning at trip there soon, don’t miss that!
