Heading back to school can be scary or stressful for little kids, so here are three ideas to make it a little more fun and special.
On Me: Abercrombie Heart Print Top, Abercrombie Jeggings
On B: Abercrombie Kids Tee, Abercrombie Kids Jeans, Abercrombie Kids Sweatshirt
On Fos: Abercrombie Kids Tee (under $10 and SO soft): Abercrombie Kids Jeans, Abercrombie Kids Sweatshirt
Earlier this week on the blog, I talked about five reasons I’m excited for my kids to go back to school. I love the routine, I love that they’re excited to be around each other, and I love the fresh start it gives all of us. It’s almost as good as January first for me!
But after two full months of summer break, going back to school isn’t always fun for the kids. So we’ve teamed up with Abercrombie Kids
today to share three things this year that will make going back to school a little more special and exciting.
1. One on one back to school shopping date with Mom makes back to school time a little more fun.
I have a friend who does back to school shopping dates with each of her kids, and I think it’s such a great tradition. My boys wear uniforms for school, but on Fridays it’s free choice, so I thought it would be super fun to do a lunch and shopping date so we could get some one on one time, and also let them choose their free choice clothes.
Abercrombie Kids just came out with all their stuff for Fall, and jeans, tees, and sweatshirts are all on sale for 40% through August 15th! So it was the perfect time to get some new school clothes.
I have shopped at Abercrombie for years (and did back in high school), and I adore their women’s jeans and basics, so I was thrilled to see their high quality jeans in kid sizes. I struggle to find jeans that my kids will happily wear, but these ones are so soft and comfortable, they loved them. They run from sizes 3/4 to 15/16! Also we got some hoodies for the boys and they’re so soft, I can hardly get them to take them off!
2. Picking a new book for the school year makes starting school feel more magical.
Reading aloud to my boys is one of my very favorite things in motherhood, and we’re just about to finish our current book (5 Children and It).
I’ve decided to start Harry Potter with them, and I think starting a new book at the beginning of the school year, especially one where the characters are finishing summer and starting school as well, makes the new school year feel more magical.
I cannot WAIT to start this book with them!
3. Having a special back to school dinner makes starting school fun and exciting.
We started the tradition of a back to school dinner a few years ago, and it’s such a great way to kick off the year. We have a special meal, talk about the expectations for the year, introduce a theme for the year, and my husband gives them father’s blessings.
I’ve love to know if you guys do anything to help the new school year feel special, whether for your kids, or for yourself!
Also don’t forget Abercrombie’s sale on jeans, tees, and sweatshirts ends the 15th!
