Backyard parties are the things my dreams are made of. Seriously, I could party plan for dinner parties all day long. So this summer, when I actually had a backyard space and a big group of friends, you know I had to make it happen. Sara and I teamed up with Minted and Jo-Ann, and hosted an amazing (if I do say so myself) Summer Floral Affair.

We first decided on a floral theme, and then found these gorgeous botanical wreath invitations on Minted that had soft pinks, peaches, and whites that totally set the tone for the rest of our party. I already had little cafe lights strung in my backyard, so we added a few little extra touches with a bunch of pretty rice paper globes from minted, and an easy wax paper garland that Sara made. To complete our ethereal mood, we set the dress code to all-white, and then teamed up with Jo-Ann to create a Floral Crown bar, which gave everyone something to do at the beginning while all the guests were arriving and made everyone extra pretty (you can find our floral crown tutorial here)!

The rest of the decor was simple and floral, with gorgeous hand painted wooden signs made by Sara (tutorial on her blog today!), lots of eucalyptus leaves, and beautiful handmade crepe paper flowers (also made by Sara — basically I did nothing except offer my backyard and set up tables).  We did a potluck dinner, which made it easy for us and gave our guests a way to contribute (since they were all asking), and we ended the night with a photobooth, cause every party needs one. Sadly we forgot our Beyonce fan for the photobooth, but I guess that gives us even more reason to throw another one very soon!

Can I ask what table and table clothes you used to make such a big wonderful table? Oh and where did you get your cute folding chairs? We have a birthday party in August and we would love to make a big table like this for it! Thanks!

    • The table is three folding tables from Staples all set together (you can also purchase the tables at Costco). The table cloth is just a king size bed sheet 😉

And the chairs were borrowed from friends — the white ones were an amazing garage sale find, but you can find similar ones here: http://bit.ly/1lwfe7d.

Good luck with your party!! xx
