cardigan: cozy, blue button up: target (altered – shop), red jeans: f21 (gifted), leopard print flats: steve madden (c/o plato’s closet)

On Wednesday morning I woke up with the flu. I tried to call in sick, but the boss (Peanut) had no intentions of letting me have the day completely off. It took him an hour or so of pulling my hands and begging until he realized there was no way I was getting off the couch. Then he became the most helpful baby in the whole world, bringing me water, helping me take my temperature, bringing me stacks of books so we could lay on the couch and read together, and even hefting the full gallon of milk over to the couch to fill up his sippy cup so I didn’t have to get up.

He didn’t even complain about having to eat dried mangos and toast with jam for dinner because that was the only food I could tolerate looking at.

I’m finally feeling better, but it took several hot baths, a few back rubs from Philip, lots of sips of water, and lots of laying on the couch. Mom’s should be exempt from sickness, period.

I’m linking up with Sarah from Frills for Thrills today, copying the gorgeous style of Katie from Running on Happiness. Her outfit is colorful and fun — I think mine feels a little Ronald McDonald.  What do you think?

p.s. don’t forget to check out my valentine’s day painting special on my art website!

I dig all the pieces, but I have to admit, I agree with your 'Ronald' take on it… my verdict? The blue button-up adds quite a masculine flavor to it. I think if you were to add a long chunky feminine necklace (maybe in brown and red?) or swap out the button-up for something more feminine and frilly in the same color, this outfit would go from golden arches to golden-gorgeous 😉
    I love your blog!

  14. You are adorable and I also adore your style choices. You have a great eye for fashion and piecing together items that normally no one would think of! I hope you don't mind that I blogged about your blog bc I just needed to share you with my audience too.

  16. This outfit is absolutely perfect! I love your blog, and you are lucky to have such a great little helper when you're sick 🙂
