Over the weekend we drove down to Phoenix for a little Labor Day weekend vacation with Philip’s family. On the drive home, as our babies slept in the back seat, Philip and I had an hour or two stretch to just talk. He told me about his work, we talked about my blog (he’s always interested in my upcoming posts, projects, and collaborations), we planned a bunch of weekend activities for the next few months, and we daydreamed about vacations we’ll take together, without the babes. I’ve been trying to be better about putting my phone away during those car rides with him because those are the times when the baby sleeps and Peanut just looks out the window or reads a book, and those moments are precious. I came home from that trip feeling so happy, fulfilled, and rejuvenated. And it wasn’t all the laying around by the pool.

Those are my favorite rides. Jake and I don't have kids yet, but my favorite part about trips is the ride home. Because we both really just open up and have a really good talk. Now we just need to start planing vacations! you look gorgeous! can't wait for what you have planned.
