Ever since my sisters and I started this Raiding My Sister’s Closet series, we’ve talked about doing a One Dress, Three Ways post. Although we grew up in the same house and constantly wore each others clothes, we have developed pretty unique styles, so choosing one dress and then individually styling it sounded like a fun idea. Joules generously sent each of us this pretty mustard floral shift dress from their gorgeous collection, and today we’re each sharing how we would style and wear it.

Sleeveless shift dresses are unbelievably versatile, and chose to pattern mix with mine by throwing a striped tee underneath, there are also a ton of other ways to wear them. Here are a few other ideas:

1. Layer with a Button Up Blouse. For a more sophisticated, office appropriate look, try a crisp white button up like this one. If you’re going for a slightly more casual look, try a light chambray top, like this one. I also love the idea of wearing gingham with this floral print, if you’re feeling a little more daring and want to try a bold pattern mix like I did.

2. Over the Top Layers. There are almost endless options in this category. A black leather moto jacket would give this floral dress some edginess, while a kimono and flat sandals would give it a boho vibe. Or try a structured jacket, denim jacket, blazer, or cardigan for a more mature and sophisticated look.

3. As a Skirt. Get more out of your clothes by wearing them in different ways. Here I wore a dress as a top — similarly, this floral pencil dress would work great as a skirt. Throw a blouse or tee over the top and you have a whole different look!

The possibilities are ENDLESS!
