My baby was born five days before Halloween. Then a month later was Thanksgiving, and a month after that was Christmas. And of course we were moving right during the middle of all of that. Then once we were out here in HB, we had nearly constant company for several months. Between all of these, there was constant eating out and more eating of treats than I care to admit, so getting back into a good post-baby exercise and eating routine was constantly put on the back burner.

So in an effort to jumpstart my healthy lifestyle, I started doing a little research and found a lot of good information about juice cleanses. In the end, I decided to do a one day cleanse. It wasn’t the most positive experience, and I only lasted about half the day because the juices and smoothies I made were horribly disgusting, and I’m just such a weenie about being hungry, and I just couldn’t get myself motivated to not eat for an entire day. Fast forward a few months and Skinny Limits offered to send me and Philip a juice cleanse. I was majorly nervous about saying yes after my previous fiasco, but figured I should probably give a cleanse another shot. Happily it was much more successful than my first attempt.

A few things about my juice cleanse experience:

  • I’m a daily green smoothie drinker, so a juice full of fruits and veggies wasn’t so bad for me. Philip thought they tasted horrible and literally had to choke them down. Also, I drank all of mine with a straw which helped them go down a little easier.
  • The last one of the day was called “Crescent Moon” and was made of cashew milk. I could drink that delicious drink every single day — it was by far the best tasting one and was a fantastic way to end the cleanse. It also filled me up and kept me full all night long.
  • I am still nursing my baby and had no problem with my milk production even though I didn’t eat anything all day. I wouldn’t recommend the three day cleanse if you’re nursing, and obviously talk to your doctor if you are nursing — mine was doctor approved!
  • I didn’t do this for weight loss, but ended up losing three pounds in the one day.
  • I would totally do it again.
Today Skinny Limits is giving away a standard three-day cleanse ($147 value!) to a lucky winner! Just leave a comment below telling me why you want to do a juice cleanse, or what you do to keep a healthy, active lifestyle. Only one comment per person, please.
This giveaway will be open for one week and will close Tuesday, June 18th at midnight, PST. Good luck!

I'd love to win this! I think juice cleanses are a great way to reset the body and the best way to consume vegetables. They are raw and so many go into a juice versus trying to eat the same amount throughout the day.

  29. I am all out of excuses of why I shouldn't be healthy already. It is so hard for me to get in my fruits and veggies and I end up carbo-loading every. single. day. I think this would be a great jumpstart 🙂

  50. Aria says:

i've been wanting to do a small juice cleanse just to help reset my digestive system- tummy troubles every time i eat are no fun 🙁 i love discovering new ways to help my family be healthy, like trying to make sure we eat something "raw" with at least two meals a day.

Thanks 🙂

  62. Cami Larson says:

You know when you hit that age where your metabolism decides it's done keeping you skinny? All of a sudden you can't eat whatever delicious things you want whenever you want? That's me. And I'm only 21. 30 lbs has slipped right by. A 3 day juice cleanse would be the absolute best to help me on my new healthy journey.

I've been wanting to try a juice cleanse but am totally chicken. Drinking through a straw is a nice touch 😉

    Kristina does the Internets

  64. Lisa says:

I haven't always wanted to try a juice cleanse. This one sounds great though and has me thinking it would be a nice jumping off point. I have recently made some drastic health changes (no sugar or dairy) but still get the occasional cravings. This might be a great "reset."

  65. Rachel says:

For the past few weeks after having a baby we've mostly been fed by kind friends and family. Because of this we've had lots of desserts and not very much control over our fruit and veggies. This would be a great way to get us started eating more healthily again.

  66. I put on a lot of weight between 2007 and 2010. 3 years and 3 dress sizes larger I knew something had to be done. It's taken me another 3 years to get down 2 dress sizes, which has been from simply eating breakfast every morning, controlling my portion sizes and exercising. I've wanted to try a juice type detox for some time, and I've spent some time researching all there is out there. It's great to be able to read your review and would definitely like to try this!

  67. Lisa McKell says:

I would love to try this! I've been needing something as a jumping off point. I have such a busy lifestyle that it is hard to have the time to even think of doing this on my own.

I have never done one and have always been intrigued by them. The reason I would like to try one is because I've heard you have a ton more energy after a cleanse. Being constantly tired, I would love to try this.

  68. Theo Fam says:

I have been wanting to try this. I just had my fourth baby in March and although I am doing okay healthy eating wise, I know I could do better. I think this would jump start for me. 🙂

  70. Roberta says:

I have also tried a juice cleanse that wasn't successful, so I would love to try this one.

  71. I've never done a cleanse and like you am nervous to try my own at home. This would be a great jump start to eating healthier, and starting my second round of insanity!

  77. Kelly says:

I have been wanting to try a juice cleanse and this would be a great way to try it out.

We live in Chicago and walk everywhere which makes me feel better since it is so much harder to get to the gym with a little one.

  78. Audrey says:

I've wanted to do a juice cleanse for a while now but I am clueless as to where to start. To get exercise, I pull weeds! It's a workout that is productive at the same time!

  79. Christa says:

On top of just having a baby 7 weeks ago, we just moved into our first home. I really need a little help to lose the rest of the baby weight.

  81. laura says:

I lead a healthy and active life by clean eating and working out 4-5 times a week. I have been wanting to try a juice cleanse for a while now, I would love see how much better it would make me feel!

I've been wanting to do a juice cleanse for a while now, but don't own a juicer and the cost to purchase the juice online are a bit pricey. I've been getting back into the gym lately, and trying to live a healthier life style- and what better what to kick it off than with a juice cleanse?! 🙂

  87. Jet says:

  88. Lindsay says:

Just trying to be healthier – this would be a great way to jump start that!!

  89. Lacey says:

I've recently started exercising more (30 day shred!) and eating healthier. I think a one day juice cleanse would be a great way to wipe out all the toxins in my body. A 'start over' type of thing, if you will.

  90. Mary says:

I have never done a cleanse, but could also use a post-baby healthy kickstart! Anything to help me kick this dessert-every-night (and afternoon) routine!

  91. Mikey says:

I run to keep in shape, but I would love to try this. 3lbs is about all I'd need to lose!

  92. Alicia says:

Never tried a cleanse, on a new path to health & wellness!

  93. I'd love to try a juice cleanse. It would be nice to give my digestive system a break and a good way to reset my tastes buds – I need a break from sugar and salty snacks!

  94. I've been really interested in doing a cleanse & was going to try & make my own juices but … I'd much rather do it this way! I need to shift back into health more fully post baby. It's been 5 months & I'm still not doing as well as I'd like:/

  95. Elizabeth says:

I've never done a juice cleanse, but they have piqued my interest lately. Unfortunately, it's not something I can afford. After high school, I wasn't participating in sports so I've noticed my body losing muscle and tone. I've been trying to eat healthier and I think a juice cleanse would definitely be helpful to keep me on check and rid my body of lurking toxins.

Thank you for including this giveaway on your blog!
    Blessings,
    Elizabeth

  96. How fun! A juicer is on my shopping list, but it'll probably be a while till I can convince my husband that its worth the money. Until then I'll just continue with the green smothies, but I'm so eager to try a juice cleanse, and to see if I really want to make the investment.

We try to stay healthy by having a little twice-a-week work out group with a few of our friends. I highly recommend this! It's so much fun. We meet at a park in the evening, do a 40-minute circuit training type work out and then either go relax in a hot tub or just hang out or go for dinner.

  97. I've always wanted to do a juice cleanse but I've never had the guts to actually purchase one! They're so good for reseting your system and I've wanted a fresh start to cleanse out the unnecessary sugars and carbs I consume.

We stay healthy by working out daily (either in the gym or taking the pup for long hikes!).

  98. Plock says:

i've never tried a juice cleanse, but would love to try it to clear out the toxins in my system.

  99. I would love a cleanse to kick start getting back into better eating habits!

  100. Thanks for a wonderful giveaway! I would love to do a juice cleanse to get my body back on track. The past year I've worked my first desk job, and that, combined with a daily 2 hour commute, has really taken a toll on my health.

  101. Lindsay says:

You and I had babies around the same time! I tried juicing about a year ago, but I only made it one day. It wasn't because I wanted food… I just really, really hate doing dishes and washing out the juicer 5 times a day was not my thing! I like this idea of having good juices conveniently ready for this busy mom… I think I could do a juice fast this time and hopefully jump start a more healthy lifestyle after months of more fast food than I'd like to admit to eating while my husband was in his last semester and coaching high school volleyball at the same time.

  102. Rachael says:

We juice regularly, and I've also recently switched to a vegan diet, so I'm excited to try these!

  103. Thea says:

Would love to try a juice cleanse! I stay healthy by working out with my trainer two days a week and running three days a week! Love the nice weather and being able to run outside!

  104. alhsjej says:

I did a 36 day juice – I made all of the juice myself. I would LOVE to try these juices I just can't do another one right now as we are moving and living at my parents until we buy a house! I could really do with another juice cleanse (and lose a little weight too!)

  105. Maren Addy says:

I'd love to try one! I'm going to Italy for 3 weeks next month, and think it would be a great thing to do after I return to jumpstart a clean diet (after all the pasta and gelato I'll be eating!)

  106. J.E.S.S. says:

I have never done a juice cleanse, but I would love to try it! I have green smoothies every morning for breakfast, and I work with a personal trainer 2 times a week. I do yoga and tabata exersizes on my off days from training.

  107. I have nover done the juice cleanse and would love to try it. I have to be in my brother wedding and need to fit in a form fitted dress. Thanks for the giveaway

I would love to try a juice cleanse! While I've never had a weight problem, I'm not a healthy eater at all and need to get better about what I'm putting in my body!

  111. Sadie Esplin says:

I've been wanting to do a juice cleanse for a while now but have never had the means! This would be amazing.

  112. amanda says:

I've always been curious about trying a juice cleanse, but haven't always heard great things … this one looks amazing! Would love to try it.

  113. Cathy says:

Like most people, I've wanted to try one for a while, but was always worried about it tasting gross. It sounds like these ones would be good and I wouldn't have to buy a juicer and make my own!

  114. I do a cleanse every year, but I've never done a juice cleanse – so it's something I would love to try! I'm a vegetarian, yogi, and health nut so I'm always interested in trying new healthy things.

  115. Emily says:

I've been curious about these cleanses but haven't tried one yet. A one day version sounds like the great place to start! I'm sick of filling my body with processed foods so thanks for the chance to win!

  116. miyoko01 says:

My dad just purchased a nutribullet and after 3 weeks of using it, he has already lost 5 lbs! Very inspiring! I would like to do a juice cleanse to be more healthy and reset my body for a healthier lifestyle. I just turned 30 on May 28th and have promised myself to start living healthier! – to include exercising more, eating more fruits/veggies, and doing things that make me happy (and less stressed out!)

    Aloha,
    Lauren

  117. Jacque says:

I am all about kick starting weight loss or healthy cleanses but I was nervous to try anything while nursing so it was good to hear your experience. Thanks for a fun giveaway! Hope things are going well out there for you. Miss you in the ward of course!

  118. I recently had my first baby in February. Between the sleepless nights, trying to kick start my work out routine, fit back into my pre-pregnancy pants and still have all the energy to run a house is hard to get used to! Juices help all aspects of my goals ^^^ and would love to try it out!
    Thank you!

  119. Kali and JT says:

I am in the same boat as you, had my second baby, traveled a ton, just moved and would love to try a juice cleanse to jumpstart my "healthy summer" as I work to feel like a person again not just a frumpy mom that only wears pants that are a weeee bit too tight 🙂

  120. I typically eat healthy and try to hit the gym at least 3 times a week. Unfortunately overtime at work and studying for architectural registration exams has taken over a lot of that gym time. I'd love to help reset my system!

  121. I also failed miserably with my own juice cleanse, but I am still anxious to try one and succeed. This one looks great!

  122. I run regularly but can't seem to get a handle on the healthy eating so maybe a juice cleanse would be just the jumpstart I need!

  123. KaceFace says:

Just had my third baby and have been really interested in a juice cleanse!

I'd like a juice cleanse because I still have those extra post-baby pounds, plus we just fought the most vicious three-week cold and the entire time I strayed from good food since the only thing that sounded good was carbs.

  127. Elissa says:

My husband, three dogs, cat, and I are getting ready to move from Alabama to upstate New York. My juicer is one of the things I purged in an attempt to cut our load. I am missing it with all the lovely summer produce at the farmers' market. A juice cleanse would be great during this hectic time in my life!

  128. karen wu says:

Oooo, I'd love to try this! I'm newly engaged and I've been working on losing some weight and getting healthier (not just for the big day, for life, but it would be a plus!). I've been interested in the ideal of a cleanse for a while, but the cost has been prohibitive. Maybe if I could try it out I'd be more likely to purchase more…Thanks for the opportunity!

  131. Jessie M says:

I would love to do a juice cleanse! I just celebrated my 1-year wedding anniversary it's been a crazy, busy, first year. I am normally an avid runner and exerciser, but have been majorly slacking off in that department and trying to get back out there has been a little sporatic. I just bought a juicer, and use it often, but I think a set, structured juice cleanse would be wonderful to get me back on track.

  132. I'd love to try this product. I've always been interested in juice cleansers, but I've tried one. I'm always looking for more ways to increase my fruits & veggies intake (and I'd love to loose some baby weight).

  133. I think the idea of a juice cleanse is really cool! I'm up for the 3 day challenge!

  134. Krissy says:

  135. beck says:

I love a good kick start into better, healthier habits, like cleanses. And I will say that as a mama of three littles, the idea of not having to do the prep is most appealing!

  136. tammy says:

I want to try a juice cleanse, but I don't know where to start. I think this sounds like a great way to get going. I'm afraid to try and make my own juices.

I would love to win this so that I can get that good start to this new change.

  139. Jay and Kay says:

I've been wanting to try a juice cleanse, and just don't really know how yet. This looks awesome, because the juice is already made for you! I have had stomach issues for almost 5 years now, and after colonoscopies, endoscopies, CT scans, TONS of blood work, and way too much pain, we still don't know exactly what the cause is. However, when I had to do the clease for the colonoscopy, it actually gave me relief for about a month! So, long story short, I would love to try this!

  140. I would love to try a juice cleanse as I am trying to get healthy and maintain a healthy lifestyle as we are trying to start a family!

After my first year of non-stop studying and working in grad school, my once healthy diet has taken a nosedive. I've never tried a juice cleanse but would be interested in trying it out in the hopes of replenishing my body nutrients and upping my energy level for my summer position at a hospital!

  143. Unknown says:

Generally speaking, I side-eye juice cleanses pretty hard. However, I frequently get horrible abdominal pains, usually after eating. I'm seeing a doctor to find out what's wrong, but my family has a history of food allergies and digestive problems, so taking a few days to reset would give me an opportunity to reintroduce potentially problematic foods one at a time, and see if a simple diet change is all I need.

  144. I would love to do a juice cleanse because my health is so important to me. I am not looking to lose weight , but a cleanse has so many other benefits that are appealing to me. I am also gluten free so having a raw fruit and vegetable drink is totally perfect. Hope to do this soon!

  145. Amy says:

I'd love to try this cleanse. My baby is almost one year old and I'm having a hard time losing the last few pounds. Last time I ran a marathon to lose the baby weight but I'm not sure if I have enough energy to start running again. Thanks for hosting!

  146. I'd love to do it! I just got back from vacation where there were a lot of sweets and things I know I'd love to cleanse from my body! Losing 3 lbs, also something I'd love to do!

  147. To be honest, I'm a wee bit skeptical about the health benefits of juicing, but I know that if it all came pre-packaged, it would keep me from eating chocolate and junk food for a few days, and that would totally be worth it 🙂

  148. I have always wanted to try one! I am going on a big trip to Mexico soon and would love to start fresh and healthy 🙂

  149. Shelby Meyer says:

Doing a juice cleanse that doesn't taste awful sounds really interesting! Its been getting harder to find exercise activities that I like with the Arizona heat breaking into 110 degrees – I'm an outdoor exerciser, but also a totally heat pansy.

  159. I'm getting married in August and I want to do a detox and lose a little bit of weight before the big day. This could be a good start to doing that 🙂 thanks for the giveaway!

  160. Caroline says:

I would love to win this juice cleanse because my summer is full of chaperoning mission trips. These trips are where we eat food that is given to us by our hosts for the week, and it would be incredibly rude to not eat the food that has been prepared just for us (most of the time it is grandma's secret recipe for something odd like liver and onions).

This juice cleanse would be GREATLY appreciated and help me jump back on the bandwagon once all my summer mission trips were completed!

  168. lchallis says:

I was promoted recently (yay!) but we haven't found a replacement for my old position (boo!) With one of my coworkers out on vacation for two weeks, and the advertising business being as crazy as it is, I feel like I'm working three jobs. I leave work late, which means take out (a lot), and I'm feeling sluggish and unhealthy. I really need to kick start my healthy habits again!

I've done a juice cleanse before and it really helped me reset my taste buds and my sugar cravings reduced a lot. But…I haven't been as careful and I'm back to my sweet ways. I need to try again and this looks like a great company. Thanks!

  185. I have juiced and done several other cleanses but nothing that I would repeat. My husband and I recently tried the Dr oz 3 day detox cleanse. 196. I try to juice at least once a day. I did yesterday and will have a juice for dinner. I really want to do a juice cleanse and not fail horribly. I tend to make excuses as to why I can't juice my juices. I quit smoking! YAY! It's been 76 days (I have a counter on my iPhone). So with quitting, I feel better but have gained some extra weight. This juice cleanse would be a great jump start! Stay blessed.

  197. Eil says:

I would love to do a juice cleanse to help reset my body and my healthy living. It is such a bummer when you have been living healthily for a while and then you spend a weekend, or some time, away from that, eating things you don't normally eat, and then you end up feeling terrible for awhile. A juice cleanse would be perfect for solving this. This happened to me over Memorial day weekend (oreos and cheetos! ahh!) and it has taken a little while for me to feel back to normal!

  201. Brynn says:

I am not someone who loves to exercise. Even when I work it into my routine, I hate it, I dread it…I don't want to do it. But I do it 5 times a week because I want my children to see how much I value the body God gave me and how much I value them – I am willing to do something I hate to be a good steward of what I have been given. I'd like to try the juice cleanse, because, although I was raised in a household with extremely clean eating, I've never tried a cleanse. I think I'd like it.

I'd love to do a juice cleanse because, after graduating from college, I realized how much stress I'd been putting on my body. Between drinks and too much late-night greasy food, I'm trying to get in shape and feel cleaner and healthier. I'm very interested in trying a cleanse but my post-grad budget wouldn't really allow me the opportunity. I'd love to try these Skinny Limits Juices!

    Best,
    Danielle

I have been through around 6 months of stress and sickness and the progress on my healthy habits that I made last year seemed to be all gone and I feel large and just not healthy. So a juice cleanse would be just the thing to kick the summer off and get me back on track. Thanks!!!

  231. (I tried to post, but it disappeared, so I'll try again)
Before I was pregnant, I used to do intermittent fasting, which I find incredibly empowering. So the idea of a juice cleanse isn't intimidating to me, but it might be interesting. Plus, I'll have some weight to lose after the baby comes in a few weeks!
