One of my favorite things to do with my boys is bake. On Saturday morning we always make a special breakfast of crepes or pancakes or waffles, and on Sunday nights we always make a batch of cookies or some other yummy dessert.

They instantly run to the kitchen and love to get up on the counter and scoop, measure, and mix right along with me. It’s one of my favorite things to do with them even though it involves lots of spills and messes.

Today I’m excited to team up with Gymboree to share their new line of kid’s spring clothes full of cute and durable pieces that will hold up to any mess or activity that your kids love to do. So whether the boys are in the kitchen spilling egg or chocolate down their shirt, or in the backyard wrestling, these clothes can handle it.

One of my favorite things to do with my boys is bake. On Saturday morning we always make a special breakfast of crepes or pancakes or waffles, and on Sunday nights we always make a batch of cookies or some other yummy dessert, and they’ll even join me in the evenings sometimes to make dinner (they love make your own pizza night).

Whenever I tell them I’m baking something, they instantly run to the kitchen and love to get up on the counter and scoop, measure, and mix right along with me. It’s one of my favorite things to do with them, even though it involves lots of spills and messes, because it’s so fun to see them learn and be creative.

Today I’m excited to team up with Gymboree to share their new line of kid’s spring clothes full of cute and durable pieces that will hold up to any mess or activity that your kids love to do, so they’re free to be creative, explore, bake, create art, or anything else!  So whether my boys are in the kitchen spilling egg or chocolate down their shirt, or in the backyard wrestling, these clothes can handle it.

I love that these pieces can work for everyday, but can also be dressed up for nicer occasions. The blue pinstripe shorts and green linen button down shirt are both perfect for Easter Sunday, and I can’t get over these little tan wingtip shoes for San.

B is loving his PIZZA shirt, and it even comes in toddler sizes!

It’s really hard to find good ties for little boys, but we own a few of Gymboree’s ties and I love the velcro in the back. Plus they’re great quality so they’ve lasted for year!

They have so many cute dresses for little girls right here too!

One of our very favorite things to bake is chocolate chip cookies. We found the perfect recipe a few years ago and we’ve been making it at least twice a month since then, so I’m sharing the recipe below!

Our Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies

makes 18-24 cookies

1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup shortening (use the shortening sticks)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350. In an electric mixer, mix all the wet ingredients together until combined. Turn mixer on medium speed and mix for 4-5 minutes until soft and fluffy. Add the chocolate chips and mix to combine.

In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients, and then add to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Place small spoonfuls on a silpat lined baking tray and cook for 8-10 minutes. You want to take them out when the tops are just starting to brown. They’ll look slightly underdone, but they’ll be perfect once you let them sit for 5 minutes on the counter. The dough and the cookies freeze very well!

I’d love to know what you and your kids do together, and don’t forget to check out the entire collection of Gymboree spring pieces right here!

I wanted to print the chocolate chip recipe. I couldn’t find an easy way to do it. Why?

Hi! You could just copy and paste the recipe into a word document and print that page out maybe? I don’t typically share recipes so I’m not great with the digital recipe card technology — apologies!

I agree that it is helpful to read reviews in order to see what other users are saying when it comes to finding the right sewing machine. I think it’s best to know a reliable repair service in order to ensure that your sewing machine is working properly at all times. My aunt is having troubles with her sewing machine, so I’ll help her find a service in her respective area.
