How to Cut Jeans Into Shorts

This is a super easy tutorial you can use for your jeans, your kids jeans, or your man’s jeans!

Step 1. Try on your jeans in front of a mirror and measure the length on one leg. Mark with a safety pin or a pencil 1/2″ below the mark.

Step 2. Take your jeans off and lay them flat on the ground with the pant legs spread apart.

Step 3. With sharp scissors, cut across one leg of the jeans at your mark. Remember, you marked it 1/2″ long, so you have room to cut shorter if needed.

Step 4. Try your jeans back on and make sure the length is good. Adjust if needed. Once the length on one side is good, move on to step 5.

Step 5. Remove your jeans and lay them with pant legs together, lining up the legs as precisely as you can. Cut the second pant leg to match the first.
