4 Ways to Wear Heels with Socks

Wearing heels with socks is so on trend this year. I decided to give it a try and it’s so much cuter than I expected!

My Grannie has always said about trends, “first you abhor, then you endure, then you embrace.” And this is totally has totally been the case for some trends for me.

One in particular? Socks with sandals. I used to dislike them, but when worn the right way, they create such a sleek and trendy look. Especially when worn with heels.

I’ve shared about my favorite socks IN THIS POST, and I’ve worn the tall wool socks almost everyday through fall and winter. They’re comfortable, affordable, and come in lots of colors. So I’m super excited to be able to wear them into spring with my heels!

Here’s how I styled them

Tips for wearing socks with sandals:

1. Balance the socks and the shoes. If the heels are colorful, choose neutral socks. If the socks are colorful, choose neutral shoes. Since my socks were green to go with my dress, I chose a pair of cream heeled braided sandals.
2. Try them with straight leg jeans. You don’t have to just wear them with skirts or dresses – they look great with jeans too. Try them with straight leg or wide leg jeans so the socks go inside the pant legs.
3. Play around with thick or thin socks. Depending on your shoes, you can do thick or thin socks. Thin socks (like pantyhose) are popular, so give those a try if you’re worried about the socks getting bunchy. Just make sure that the socks lay flat and smooth, regardless of the thickness.
