One of my favorite places to find jeans is Madewell. They have so many styles of jeans out there, so here are my 4 favorites that I wear all the time, and are great if you’re branching out from skinny jeans.

Madewell is one of my long time go-tos for great jeans. They have good quality, good fit, lots of interesting styles, and many of their jeans come in petite, tall, and plus sizes. I have been wearing their jeans for years and truly have found some of my favorite ever jeans from them.

Skinny jeans are NOT out of style, but there are so many other jean styles out there, so if you’re trying to figure out which styles to try, here are a few!

Also, did you know about Madewell’s Denim Recycling Program? Bring a pair of old jeans into their store (they can be any brand of jeans and any age) and they’ll give you $20 to spend toward a new pair of Madewell jeans. AMAZING.

Here are a few of my current favorite pairs of Madewell jeans

Some of my all-time favorite pairs are no longer available, but these are 4 pairs I’m loving right now that I’m wearing over and over.

  1. Black Demi Boot Jeans in Bayland Wash, Raw Hem Edition
    • These are stretchy and comfy and don’t sag or stretch out. Size down one size from your normal jeans size. I wear a size 25 in these.
  2. Mid-Rise Perfect Vintage Jeans in Clean Black Wash
    • I bought these in a light wash color last summer and wore them SO MUCH. So of course I had to get a pair of black ones! They’re comfy and soft and great if you don’t want a super high rise. They run big – size down one size from your normal jean size. I wear size 25.
  3. Perfect Vintage Jean in Lunar Wash
    • These are very similar to the mid rise pair above, but they’re high rise and in a gray color, not black. Gray jeans are super versatile and easy to weary. I love the straight leg fit on these and they go with everything. They run big – size down one size from your normal denim size. I’m wearing size 25.
  4. Perfect Vintage Jean in Manorford Wash: Instacozy Edition
    • I just got this pair of jeans and they’re a great option if you’re trying to branch out of skinny jeans. They have a slim fit and a super high waist, and they’re very comfy and stretchy. They have a longer ankle length, and they run 2 sizes big for me in the waist. I sized down to a 25 like I normally do, but the waist is a little loose. I should have sized down to a 24, but instead I’m just going to run them through the washer and dryer and shrink them a bit. They’re too good to return – the fabric and color and style is so good.

    • These are stretchy and comfy and don’t sag or stretch out. Size down one size from your normal jeans size.
    • I wear a size 25 in these.

If you’re branching out from skinny jeans (not that skinny jeans are bad!), these are a great option. They’re soft and comfy, and they’re fitted all the way to the knee like your skinny jeans, and then just ever so slightly flare out below the knee. It’s subtle, but makes them feel a little less tight and like regular skinny jeans.

If you’re not quite ready for “mom jeans,” these are seriously a great pair.

These have become some of my most worn pairs of jeans this fall and winter!

    • Soft, comfy, straight leg fit. They’re not a faded black color, but a true rich black.
    • They run big – size down one size from your normal jean size. I wear size 25.

If you’re looking for a pair of mid-rise jeans, these are the jeans for you! I had a pair of these jeans in the summer that were light wash with distressing (you can see them in this blog post), and I loved and wore them so much that I had to try them in black.

These are great if all the straight leg and wide leg jeans out there are too high rise for you — these are mid rise but they still feel flattering for a longer torso girl like me.

These have been a great staple in my closet this fall and winter.

    • Thicker denim, still comfy, straight leg fit, and a high rise.
    • They run big – size down one size from your normal denim size. I’m wearing size 25.

These are very similar to the mid rise pair above, but they’re high rise and in a gray color, not black. Gray jeans are super versatile and easy to weary. I love the straight leg fit on these and they go with everything. I find myself reaching for these way more than I expected. They look darker on the website, but they’re a true gray color!

This fit is a great option if you’re trying to branch out from skinny jeans, because they’re not too straight of a fit…more of a slim cut. Definitely worth trying.

    • Stretchy, soft, cozy and a great slim fit straight cut.
    • These run big – wearing size 25, but a 24 would have been best for the waistband to fit well.

I just got this pair of jeans and they’re a great option if you’re trying to branch out of skinny jeans. They have a slim fit and a super high waist, and they’re very comfy and stretchy. They have a longer ankle length, and they run 2 sizes big for me in the waist.

All of these are great jean options, if you’re in the market for a new pair that’s not skinny jeans!
