I love sharing my new favorites! Here are five of my favorite things right now, including new running sunglasses, a manners book for kids, and more.

5 favorite things I’m loving lately

Don’t you love hearing about other people’s favorite things? There are so many great products out there, but weeding through the best is hard to do. So I love sharing these monthly favorites – it’s fun to share about new products and items I’m using and loving.

Here are five recent favorite things!

1. 52 Modern Manners for Today’s Teens

My kids are obviously not teens yet (my oldest is 11) but we’ve been using this Modern Manners flip book every night at dinner to discuss manners. It’s never too early to start talking about manners! This is a flip style book written by my friend, Brooke Romney (mom of 4 boys) and it’s meant to have one topic per week for an entire year.

We pull it out almost every night during dinner, and it brings up great discussions about good manners for kids and teens, like how to talk to a waiter at a restaurant and order your food, or best practices when you’re over at a friends house, or how to not leave one person out, and so much more. Sometimes Philip and I share experiences we’ve had where we didn’t have the best manners, or someone we were with didn’t, and we even do role plays about the various manners topics.

I bring these manners up regularly in our daily life, reminding them of the manner we learned and that we now have an opportunity to put it into practice.

If you have older kids or teens, I cannot recommend this book enough.

2. Goodr Sunglasses

For my whole life, I’ve worn regular sunglasses when I run outside. I spend the entire run pushing my sunglasses up on my nose, since they slip down with the sweat.

I got a pair of these Goodr Sunglasses at a Christmas even last month, and finally used them to run outside (lately I’ve only been running on the treadmill) and I was FLOORED at how amazing they were.

On my five mile run, I didn’t have to touch them once!! They stayed up perfectly, and were so lightweight that I didn’t even notice them. Plus they’re polarized.

If you’re a runner, you must try these sunglasses.

3. Turtleneck tunic sweater

I got this sweater a few weeks ago and I’ve worn it probably ten times since then. It’s a perfect long tunic sweater to wear with leggings, it’s great quality for the price, and super comfortable. You know how sometimes you buy something from Amazon and it’s just “amazon quality?” I was very pleasantly surprised at how great this one is. Also I’ve washed it a few times and washes beautifully. Just lay flat to dry — don’t dry in the dryer or it will shrink (I did and had to re-wash and stretch it back out, which worked fine).

It comes in a few colors, but I have it in black and it’s been super versatile. Also the turtleneck part is a little large, but THIS TRICK I SHARED ON INSTAGRAM makes it feel much less bulky.

4. Mentionables Lingerie

I’ve shared about this brand of lingerie for years and since Valentine’s Day is around the corner, I’ve been getting requests for my discount code (if you want it too, code MERRICK takes 10% off!) They make the most amazing and affordable lingerie, and they have inclusive sizing. They have a good variety of styles too, from more comfortable and cute, to more sexy. But all of it is affordable and great quality. If you’re looking for something to feel extra pretty and sexy, seriously check out their stuff.

5. Lightweight puffer coat

This coat is one of my all time favorite coats. I have it in two colors now (just bought a second one) and it’s a perfect lightweight coat. Not quite warm enough for the snow, but great for running in the winter outside here in Texas (it’s down in the 20s and 30s), or just a casual coat option with leggings or jeans. It’s also affordable and comes in a bunch of cute colors. I wear the size XS. If you’re looking for a dressier coat, THIS ONE is spectacular.
