LITTLE BLUE SWING DRESS

PHOTOGRAPHY BY JANA LAURENE
As we head into spring around here (sorry all you people who will still be dealing with snow for the next four months) dresses become my go-to.  Swing dresses are one of my favorite dress styles to wear because they’re so comfortable, and can easily be dressed up or dressed down. Throw a swing dress on with wedges and a statement necklace for date night (like I did here), or dress it down with a simple pair of leopard flats. I even styled one with a high pony, sandals, and my denim jacket tied around my waist that you can see here. The options are endless, and you look put-together no matter what!
And the best part is that they’re super easy to make. Find the Perfect Summer Swing Dress sewing tutorial right here!
Happy Wednesday!

I love this!! I’m looking for inspiration for work clothes for a casual office environment and I think this look would work well! I tried clicking on the link for the leopard flats but it doesn’t seem to be working.

I like the style…but a little short. My 12 year old won’t wear skirts that short.

I’ve been searching for something this nice blue color because of you ๐Ÿ˜‰ I don’t own one piece of blue clothing! I can never find something I like so I just might make it myself. I made this swing dress in a nice chartreuse (purely coincidence that I had enough material the same color as your dress!) and I love that dress. Now if it will only warm up, but like you mentioned I have 4 more months of snow. boo.

And do you always use the same type of knit, with a bit of lycra in it?

  16. Tricia McSwain says:

You’ll have to keep us updated about those shoes. I know they are suppose to br more comfortable than most ballet flats and are super cute…but that price tag!
