Why the “before” dress outfit needs improvements:

  • During the winter, a warm coat is important over dresses and skirts, but a big puffy coat isn’t the best option. We can certainly do better!
  • Bare legs in winter are ok if you live in a warmer climate, but if you’re in the cold, cover those legs up!
  • Don’t forget the jewelry! Under a coat, necklaces and bracelets aren’t the best option – try some earrings.

A few easy ways to help you figure out how to wear a dress in winter:

  • Ditch the big, puffy coat, and find yourself a chic wool wrap coat! It defines your waist, and matches the dressiness level of the dress.
  • Cover up those legs with some nice opaque tights.
  • For your shoes, you can stick with the black flats! I chose black heels for a little more elevated look, but also some slim black ankle boots are a great choice.
  •  Don’t forget the jewelry!
