Scarves are such a perfect spring piece, and they’re huge this year — both literally and figuratively (have you guys heard the term “Blanket Scarf?” They’re exactly what you think they are). I love wearing scarves, and think they’re a great completer piece to simple outfits. If you’re not sure how to wear yours, try these tips:
1. Keep the rest of your outfit fitted and structured. A big statement piece like an oversized scarf can look unruly when paired with a relaxed outfit. So when wearing it, put on your fitted jeans and then complete the structured look with a blazer or jacket and some feminine heels.
2. Tuck your hair. When you’re wearing a big scarf like this, and your hair is laying on top of the scarf, it’s forcing your hair to stick so far out and it just looks weird. So tuck away. Plus, the faux bob illusion is popular right now, so why not give it a shot when you have a perfect place to tuck that long hair?
  • tip: part your hair down the back and pull each half to the front; then put the scarf on and bunch and pull out little sections as desired.
3. Bigger is not always better. Like I mentioned above, there are some scarves in stores right now that are quite literally blankets. If I took my throw blanket from my couch right now and put it around my neck, I would look silly. Some of these options are just as big, and are just not flattering. So go easy on the “oversized.” Big scarves are fun. Giant scarves are almost always (if not always) too much.
(and if you want to make yourself one, it’s the easiest thing in the world…just buy 1 1/2 to 2 yards of fabric, wash and dry it, and then wrap it around your neck!)
. . . . . . . . . . .
Now on to the giveaway! The purse in the photos above is my new favorite black bag. I love the shape that is reminiscent of the popular Celine bag, the durable and wipeable material, and how it opens up nice and wide so I can see aaaaaallllll my junk in there.
Today Sassy Steals is giving away one of these bag (your choice of black, like mine, or mint!) FULL of gorgeous jewelry from Apple of my Eye to one lucky reader! Enter with the rafflecopter below to win!

I normally scroll through and casually look at the adorable outfits you come up with, but today was different. I saw your bag and I immediately scrolled to the bottom to click on the link because I NEED that bag. I was so sad it wasn't there (or I couldn't find it). It was only then I realized it was a giveaway! Awesome.

I luuurrrvvvv big scarves! I have a 'blanket scarf' from Zara and I love it. But I'm 6'0" tall so I'm kinda big to begin with, I promise it doesn't look awful on me. It probably looks similar to what you're wearing here! Thanks for the chance to win, looks like a gorgeous bag!
