This week I’m sharing a Summer Outfit Guide. Today we’re covering what to wear to outdoor events, like a backyard BBQ, sporting event, outdoor concert, and more!
Welcome to the Summer Outfit Guide! Every day this week I’ll have some outfits for specific summer outings and events. These posts are meant to help you when you have a pool day, wedding, BBQ, work day, etc., and can’t figure out what to wear. Today, I’m sharing what to wear to a BBQ, summer sporting event, hiking, an outdoor concert, or any other outdoor summer event!
A great resource for any outfit is MY OUTFIT GUIDE where you can filter by occasion, dressiness level, and seasons to get hundreds of my outfits to help inspire you.
Summer Outdoor Outfits
If you get invited to a backyard bbq, a pair of linen pants and a basic tee are a great option. They feel summery and breezy while still feeling super casual (because you know everyone else will probably be very casual). Add a baseball hat if you want to dress it down more, or add a wedge if you want to dress it up.
And if you want to add a little more interest to the outfit, add a striped tee instead of solid!
Summer outdoor sporting event
Whether you’re headed to a summer sporting event or one of your kid’s games, you need something comfy and lightweight. This skort is a favorite cause it’s breathable, has built in mesh shorts underneath, and dries quickly because it’s made of athletic material.
Hiking is a fun summer activity, and while you can wear basically anything to hike, a pair of lightweight leggings or shorts with a tank top that is breezy but still covers my shoulders a bit, is my go-to. You could also tie a shirt or sweatshirt around your waist for a little booty coverage, as well as a layer if you hike up higher and need a little warmth.
This Rad Pack bag is amazing for hiking, and is big enough to carry snacks, sunscreen, chapstick, bandaids, and so much more.
And I just got this awesome Stanley water bottle with the handle, and it’s perfect for hiking.
If you’re headed to a concert in the park, a comfy dress and cute sneakers is perfect for a night under the stars. You could add a jacket if it’s going to get chilly, but if it’s warm, a comfy dress can’t be beat. This one is ribbed and so soft, and requires no layers over or under!
