Each week in my head drawing class, we’ve had a portrait assignment due. I’ve been doing all self portraits, and figure that it’s time to step out of that and start drawing/painting someone else. But I’ll start that next week.

Here is my self portrait from this week. The goal was to make it more of a “drawing” rather than a “portrait.” In other words, I tried to make it less about Merrick and more about a woman, so it would appeal to anyone rather than just people who know me.

I’d love to know what you think.

  1. I said it before, and I'll say it again – I LOVE it. You are amazing!

    Absolutely beautiful.

  3. Miriam says:

Wonder if I used a brownish colored pencile and filled in my backgrounds somewhat if my drawings would like similar to yours……?…..nope! Study and practice really does show! Beautiful!

  4. Janssen says:

I wonder the same thing as Aunt Miriam. I'm pretty sure it's the colors of my pencils that are making my drawings not turn out like yours.
