Paying Homage

{my last painting done at The Bridge}

As I mentioned, I returned The Bridge a few weeks ago. After four months of maternity leave, it was a much needed outlet and I was thrilled to be back. Well, not one week after my return, we all received an email saying that classes were being suspended for the rest of the year. Although they’re hoping to reopen as a non-profit organization at some point, it’s not looking good for the immediate future.

I don’t know if I’ve really expressed my true feelings about The Bridge, but I’m sick about this. This school was my dream come true — a two minute drive from my house, amazing teachers who pushed me in the directions that I wanted, tons of great connections, amazing student artists, and the list could go on and on.

So today I’m paying homage to The Bridge. I’m seriously going to miss that place…

  1. So Sad! I'm so sorry! That totally stinks!

  2. Oh that's terrible!! I know how much you loved your experiences/learning there. I'm so sorry!

  3. Oh no! Merrick, I'm so sorry!

  4. Packrat says:

    That is awful! BTW, your painting is really good.

  5. oh my gosh that is so sad! i'm not even a figure painter and i think i would've loved that place. hopefully they will be able to reopen soon!

  6. Chelsea says:

    Merk! That's no good. I'm so sorry to hear about this!

  7. I liked your post…all I can say is ditto.

  8. Thanks for explaining that using spandex on the edges helps the edges lay flat instead of curl. I want to learn more about the different types of fabric because I want to start using my sewing machine more. I’m glad I read your article because I learned some interesting things about spandex that I wasn’t aware of before.
