On my second day in Amsterdam I got the amazing opportunity to meet up with the Bugaboo stroller team and learn a little more about the company, test out some of the strollers, and spend the day with them. That night they threw an amazing Andy Warhol themed party (based on their collaboration with his foundation — have you seen the banana stroller?) with super cool graphic and neon decor, and coincidentally I fit right in with my neon orange top.
I picked up this neon top from Anthropologie a few days before I left on my trip, and as soon as I saw it hanging on the sale rack I knew I had to have it. The best part was that it turned to be accidentally marked lower than it was supposed to be (by half), and when it rang up as the full sale price, I asked about the lower marked price and they honored the lower price. So I got this beauty for a complete steal, and could have kissed the sales attendant on my way out.
Neon in large quantities can be tricky to style, so with a piece like this that makes half your body neon, go for neutrals in the rest of your outfit. I went with cool gray denim that counters the warm neon, a classic black leather jacket (which can also cover up some of the brightness if you’re feeling too much like a highlighter), and nude heels. As long as the rest of your outfit isn’t competing against the neon, it works and looks totally chic.
