Last week I posted about my fun collaboration with Golden Tote, and how we teamed up to curate and design some pieces for their August Tote. Golden Tote is a personal shopper subscription box site; every month you can choose from two tote sizes — 2-3 clothing items for $49, or 5-7 clothing items for $149, fill out your style profile, choose your favorite items to be included in your tote, and then leave the rest to them. It’s such a perfect solution for women who don’t have time to shop, don’t know what to buy, or don’t know where to shop!
It was such a blast working with them to curate and design their August Tote (you can see pictures from our day of shopping and designing here), and now I’m thrilled to share with you the pieces we made!
When we sat down and started brainstorming design ideas, I instantly thought of my swing dress that I made a few months ago. It’s the perfect dress for all seasons, all body types, and all levels of dressiness, so I knew we had to make it. We went through a ton of color and print options, but finally decided on a gorgeous rich paisley, a beautiful cobalt blue, and of course a black and white stripe (which I’m sure none of you are surprised by…I love my stripes!)
These dresses are so versatile, and can be dressed up, dress down, layered, belted and more for a million different looks. Wear them for date night with heels and statement jewelry, or to the park with sandals and a denim jacket tied around your waist. They’re also perfect for spring and summer with just a lightweight utility vest layered over it (or just by itself), or great for fall and winter with a scarf, jacket, tights, knee-high or ankle boots, or a fur vest. Seriously, that blue one in winter with a fur vest, sparkly jewelry, heels, and a bold lip? So chic!
Our next design was one of Golden Tote’s patterns, and as soon as I saw it I fell in love with it. As a mom, I’m always on the hunt for easy tops that can take me from day to night and are as comfy as a tee but more than a tee. Cause sometimes you just need something that’s more than a t-shirt, you know? This top is the answer, and is so perfect.
We chose a super soft and subtle lace in both coral and black, and then lined them with contrasting colors to add a little something extra. They’re insanely comfortable, perfectly oversized, and the flutter sleeve an unexpected and special touch to dress it up just a little bit.
I wore my black top in an all black look with a little pop of neon for an edgy look you could wear on a date or out with your girlfriends. Then I threw on the coral top with a pair of boyfriend jeans and leopard flats for an easy and pretty day or weekend look! These tops are also so perfect for tucking into skirts, dressing up a pair of shorts, or layering over a long sleeved tee during the cooler months! Plus, the sleeves are soft and small enough that you can easily throw a jacket over the top without any shoulder bulkiness. They’re the perfect top to add to your closet and wear all year long!
Both of these pieces in all their colors are now available over at Golden Tote, both as part of their August tote, and individually for sale in their boutique. Hop over and check them out, and thank you again for all your support in this fun collaboration!
So many great outfits, you have a style that I like very much!
Also, congrats on this kind of opportunity! It’s such an honour to be able
to design something where you can put your own touch and see some other
women around wearing it!

Will any more sizes be added? I’m so sad the blue and striped dresses are already sold out in my size!
I’m so sorry! They sold so much faster than we expected! But they’re going to make more, so more should be available soon, I think!
Wow congrats on your success with this so far! It’s all wonderful!

I’ve never heard of Golden Tote before but I think it’s a brilliant idea! I’m going to check out that swing dress now – the silhouette is fantastic!
The yellow and cobalt blue bags are stunning!

So sad I missed out on the blue dress, you need to make more!!
I love your swing dresses but I don’t know what size to order. I am petite, and typically wear an xs in tops and 0 in pants. Sometimes I drown in too much fabric but I love how flowy the dresses are. What size would you suggest?
I’m wearing the XS in the stripe, and the Small in the paisley and blue, and I’m 5’6″. So if you’re smaller, and don’t need the extra length, I’d go for an XS or XXS. Hope that helps!
What size are you wearing in the top? I ordered a small but have heard it runs big?
size small!
Hi, Merrick! You look so lovely in these outfits. Where did you get your boyfriend jeans? They’re adorable!
Hi Stephanie! They’re Dittos brand from lulus.com!
I was planning on sewing the swing dress today but I realized I didn’t have enough material. So I’m planning on using a contrast color to go with my pattern.
