First of all, thanks for all your words of encouragement about my foot and my wisdom teeth.

I went in for my appointment at 2:20 on Friday, filled out some paperwork, got some x-rays taken, and then headed back to the operation room. The doctor came into the room about two minutes after that and asked why I had asked to get only three wisdom teeth removed when I had four.

….uh…

I didn’t have a good answer to that one. I had been told that I only had three, and had x-rays to prove it. Well, apparently that fourth guy was sneaky and was hiding way up high.

So forty additional dollars later, and I was now scheduled for four wisdom teeth to be removed.

The nice anesthesiologist came in (you should know by now that I like anesthesiologists..a lot…especially if they’re on time (and this guy was)), and put the IV in my arm. I, like most people, don’t love needles, but thankfully I have a very prominent vein in my right arm that they always use for IV’s. So one little prick and soon the sleeping medicine began working its magic (sorry, Brit…too graphic??).

The next thing I knew, I was awake, Philip and Peanut were in the room, and the surgery was over.

On the way home, while still completely numb, and under the influence of many drugs, I stupidly took a photo of myself in my most attractive post-surgery state. And here I am, stupidly posting it for the whole interweb to see…I’m still blaming the drugs.

gauze in my mouth, ice packs on my cheeks. cute.

And because I posted that heinous picture of myself above, I feel entitled to show you a picture of myself on day 2 when I was feeling and looking much better. Still a little swollen on one side, but nothing too bad.

I slept on and off the rest of Friday. Once Saturday rolled around, I felt great. While Philip and Peanut spent the afternoon at Seven Peaks water park, I stayed home and made ice cream.

I made Peanut Butter, Strawberry, and Raspberry. The strawberry was somewhat of a bust (too fluffy…not smooth and creamy like ice cream should be), but the peanut butter and raspberry were to die for.

raspberry ice cream

All in all, the ordeal was not too bad. Minimal pain, minimal swelling, and ample amounts of ice cream. Can’t complain about that.

I think you look amazing in both pictures. You should have seem me. Horrible! Was there any particular reason you needed to get them removed? Or did I miss that blog?
