It’s getting cooler here in Missouri as we head into fall, and I love layering this time of year. A puffer vest is a great fall layer. Here is how to wear a puffer vest with your fall outfits!
Do you own a puffer vest? They’re a great layering piece but can be hard to style, so today I’m sharing how to wear a puffer vest.
I found a few cute ones from Walmart at great price points and in different styles. They have longer ones and cropped ones…I’ve got a few ones linked throughout and at the bottom of this post!
Puffer Vest Outfits
1. Try a puffer vest with a fitted tee and light wash jeans
I tried a longer vest and a shorter vest with this outfit, and a longer vest definitely looked best. I love the contrast of the fitted tee against the puffer vest, and although this would definitely look good with a black or dark wash pair of jeans, I chose a full length light wash pair with sneakers for a trendier look.

2. Try tone on tone with a puffer vest!
This is maybe my favorite of the four outfits. I didn’t plan on wearing this vest with the brown sweater, but I tried on a whim and I absolutely loved how it turned out. So whether you do a tone on tone with shades of brown, or some other color, it creates a really chic look!

3. Pair your puffer vest with a graphic sweatshirt
A graphic sweatshirt and a puffer vest is a match made in heaven. Comfy, casual, and cozy. I paired with black leggings and sneakers and a baseball hat. I love this look!

4. Pair a cropped vest with a sweater dress!
I wanted to try a cropped vest in this post, but none of the outfits worked well with the shorter vest until I tried it with a sweater dress. Then it worked! I love how this looks and it creates an easy, fall look with tan ankle boots.
