Trying to figure out how to wear dresses in the winter?

I wear dresses mostly in the spring and summer, but sometimes winter events call for a dress and it’s just a little harder to wear them during the cold months. So I wanted to show you a few ideas of how to wear dresses in the winter with these uber comfortable Merrick White Collection dresses that are on sale this week.

These are the most comfortable dresses that can be worn all year

I created my line of comfortable women’s dresses in 2019. They’re buttery soft, have beautiful drape, they’re a really incredible high quality stretchy knit fabric, machine washable, and made in the USA!

They’re also on sale right now for 40% off and you will NOT want to miss that.

Quantities are limited on these dresses, so if you’ve had your eye on one, now’s the time to grab them before sizes are gone!

Here are some easy ideas of how to wear a dress in the winter

1. A warm coat and boots are an easy combination for winter

This is a really easy option! A warm coat and boots will keep you cozy and warm. If you need extra warmth, try taller boots or tights. A pair of black tights and black boots would look great with this outfit.

2. Layer a cozy sweater over your dress

This is one of my favorite tricks! Just layer a sweater over the top of your dress and turn your dress into a skirt!

This dress has a waistband tie, so I tied that and then tucked the sweater into the tie to hold it in place.

I finished the look with a cozy pom pom hat and some socks!

3. Layer a cozy cardigan over the top of your dress

A long cardigan is perfect over a knee length dress. The waist tie keeps your waist defined under the cardigan so you still have some shape.

This is a perfect outfit for staying in and cooking Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow!

4. Layer a sweater over your dress

This is one of my favorite tricks for winter, and immediately turns a summer dress into a winter dress. Just layer a sweater over the top! I use a hair tie and create a little “ponytail” with the sweater, and then tuck it up and under so it’s hidden. You can do it in the front or the back of the sweater.

For extra warmth, I paired a coat over the top of the whole look.

5. Wear tall boots underneath your dress

You can definitely wear tall boots with your dresses, even midi dresses!

Trying to figure out how to wear dresses or skirts in the winter?

I wear dresses and skirts a ton in the spring and summer, but sometimes winter events call for a dressy outfit, and it’s just a little harder to wear them during the cold months. So I wanted to show you a few ideas of how to wear dresses and skirts in the winter.

1. Pair a cozy sweater with a longer skirt

This combination has you covered from head to toe. The thick sweater pairs well with a longer skirt without adding too much bulk. For the part of the leg exposed, I added fleece lined tights for even more warmth. To make this even warmer, I would add a neutral coat as the final layer.

2. Wear a sweater dress with tights

Sweater dresses are ok in warmth on their own, but adding in tights adds that extra layer of warmth. Plus, some patterned tights are just fun!

A long cardigan or coat is perfect over a knee-length dress. I really love adding the tall boots for an elevated look, and you could even layer tights under this for even more warmth!
