A blazer is a closet staple – and there are so many ways to wear one. You don’t need to limit yourself to just wearing your blazer with jeans or pants. Here’s how to wear a blazer with a dress.
I am loving blazers for the fall – sweater, colored, patterned, structured, oversized – they are all so versatile and can be styled a hundred different ways. Today I want to help you branch out from a standard blazer and jeans outfits and show you how to wear a blazer with a dress.
How to Wear a Blazer With a Dress
Try a blazer with a full swing midi dress
A blazer and midi dress is a great option that feels effortless and chic for fall. Keep the blazer length shorter, cause you don’t want a long blazer AND a long dress, or you’ll get too overwhelmed by the fabric.
You could add a pair of cool fashion sneakers for an edgy look, or do a more classic look with heels or boots.
Try your blazer with a fitted dress
If you’re wearing an oversized blazer, try a fitted dress underneath to create some balance in the outfit. Play around with different combos…slip dresses, mini dresses, bodycon dresses, sweater dresses, etc. And try different lengths and styles of blazers…long blazers, oversized blazers (if you like that style, I don’t personally like it), double breasted blazers, etc.
Try belting your blazer with a dress!
If a dress and blazer feels a bit overwhelming to your body, try adding a belt to give some waist definition. You can do this with any length of dress or blazer, or any width of belt. Play around with some different combinations to see what you like and what works for your body.
