How to Style Full Length Wide Leg Pants

Wide leg pants are very trendy right now. Today, I’ll share how you can style full-length wide-leg pants and share some shopping options! 

Long wide leg pants have come in and out of style for decades, and right now they’re very much in. But they’re tricky to style!

I’ve shared lots of styling tips for cropped wide leg pants (HERE, HERE, and HERE), but very little on full length pants, so I want to share a few tips for this style today, plus sharing some cute outfits with full-length wide-leg pants.

Tips for wearing full length wide leg pants

1. Choose shoes that don’t let them drag on the ground.
2. Pair with clothing that allows your waist to be defined.
3. Select tops that balance the fuller statement bottoms

Choose shoes that don’t let the your pants drag on the ground

Whether your full length wide leg pants are shorter or longer, choose pants that don’t let them drag on the ground. These jeans are very long, so if I wore them with flats, they’d bunch and drag and look ridiculous.

So I chose a pair of block heels to wear with them so they are about 1/4 an inch above the ground. You won’t want them to look too short, but they shouldn’t drag.

You can do close toed, pointed toe, open toed, boots…anything you want! Just make sure they’re the right height.

Pair with clothing that allows your waist to be defined

When you’re wearing these full-length, wide-leg pants, it’s just A LOT of fabric. Defining your waist helps your shape not get lost in the fabric. You can wear an oversized top, or even a long jacket or coat, but make sure that waist is defined underneath. See how my top is tucked in underneath the longer blazer? That helps define my waist!

Select tops that balance the fuller statement bottoms

With a pair of full length wide leg jeans that are a major statement, you want to balance with a top that’s a little more of statement. Choose something in a bold color print, or has a statement sleeve, neckline, or other embellishments. This puffed sleeve top is perfect to balance!
