On Monday mornings, Peanut goes to preschool. As I stood outside with him this past Monday, waiting for his carpool to arrive, I felt Fall in the air for the first time. That fantastic crisp and cool air that I’ve anxiously been waiting for over the last few weeks of hot summer.

I was dubious of it staying cool throughout the day, and it did warm up a bit later in the afternoon, but when I woke up yesterday and that crispness was still in the air (along with a very overcast sky), I decided it was time to pull out the boots and sweaters — the best time of the year. As Peanut and I ran errands in the morning, I felt a little thrill every time I got out of the car and felt the cool air again. And then when we got home I cuddled up on the couch with a cup of hot cocoa and a new book from the library. I guarantee we’ll get a few more hot days before it cools down permanently, and that’s okay. I’ll just soak up any bit of fall that I can — and try to resist turning on some Christmas music.

. . . . . . . . .
The smaller of the two necklaces that I’m wearing is from Sebastian Designs. Her shop is full of adorable handmade jewelry. I’m more of a jewelry minimalist, so this minimalist initial circle necklace was totally appealing to me, and with Peanut’s initial and baby #2’s initials on there, I couldn’t be a happier mama. Go check out her adorable shop!
Oh, and the One Little Belt giveaway ends tonight at midnight MST, so make sure you go enter!

  1. Ahhhh that crisp cool air. That's one thing I look forward to every year esp living on the east coast! To finally rid the humidity! The humidity is finally gone in NC now. Some days have been 70 and some 83? Apparently the weather is still confused and the summer is fighting to stick around. I bought a pair of knee high boots in August. Early shopper yes… I'm still waiting to find the right moment to really pull them out! I can't wait!

Love your outfit! Baby #2 is almost here! =)

Fall is the best! I am more than ready for sweaters, boots, and humidity-free days that allow my hair a chance avoid frizz for a few months. You look so good and I envy your ability to create a pretty topknot 🙂

Yeah we don't really get crispness in the air here in Southern California… Wish we did! The coastal fog lasts until about 11 or so and then it's a bazillion degrees.

PS. I've haven't told you this but I absolutely LOVE your anniversary ring! Philip did a good job; it's totally stunning. Do you have any idea where he got it? Ever since you first posted about it I've filed it in my brain 🙂

Although I love the changing colors, I hate fall coz it means winter is right around the corner and being coming from a tropical kinda climate (south India) im not a big fan of winters! You look lovely and I love those boots!
PS- Love boots and snow which makes the winter tolerable 😀

I have that exact shirt and I love it! I bought it about two-ish years ago, and as much as I've worn it, I have more than gotten my money's worth. 🙂 Such a cute outfit.
