Although I haven’t been so good about posting our monthly dates (remember how I’m doing a year of dates with Philip??), we have continued to do them every month.

For our June date, we took advantage of our little trip to Phoenix and Tuscon to leave Peanut with the grandparents and head off for an afternoon of tennis. I was super excited about this date because we have been talking about about playing tennis together for years, but we’ve never actually gotten around to it. It’s one of the very few sports that we can play together, because Philip is very athletic and I am….not. (I mostly go along for the cute athletic skirts).

But to be fair, we did get some good volleys back and forth, and despite the 105 degree heat, it was a blast. Maybe one of my favorite dates so far this year.  If I wasn’t pregnant, and it was more like 75 degrees, I could have played all day, I was having so much fun.

Happy 4th of July!
(now go eat some apple pie and light some sparklers!)

What a good idea for a date! Do you guys ever play racquetball?

  2. Very cute date idea. I mean, you would have to pay me to play any kind of sport, but I know that other people enjoy it. I'm more of the art museum and movie date kind of person. Obviously, I'm not as adventurous as you two!

Oh, but I do love your sporty little skirt.

How fun! I should try that with my husband sometime, although I'd have to wait for like, November because I'm such a heat/humidity wimp:)

Cute cute! I'm hoping to put together a "date box" like yours for Christmas, and Tennis is a great idea! Tim (my hubby) has NEVER played tennis and I took lessons all throughout my childhood (though I'm not really all that great). It would be perfect; thanks for the idea! Love the pics, too. Cute!

Ha, I just bought a running skirt. I feel much less conspicious running when I'm wearing a cute skirt. Too bad it doesn't make me run harder as well!

I'm with you — cute skirts make the activity. 🙂 I'm so not athletic either. But this reminded me that my husband and I played tennis once together when we were dating. And I think we need to do it again.

    Thanks for linking up!
