One of my most frequently asked questions is about travel shoes.
Which ones are cute and comfortable, and also how do I wear a sneaker with a normal outfit without looking like a total tourist?
I’ve partnered with Nordstrom today to share two easy travel outfits, and two pairs of sneakers that are comfortable and cute, and are great for those travel days when you’re walking miles and miles.
Choose walking sneakers that are slim and neutral
The biggest challenge when wearing sneakers on vacation is how they look with your outfit. I’d recommend choosing a pair that’s a neutral color, like THESE OATMEAL COLORED NIKE SNEAKERS. You could also do a pair of black or gray sneakers!
THESE SNEAKERS are running shoes, so they’re super lightweight and have incredible support. You’ll be flying around the city!
Also, remember that a slim sneaker is always more chic. So avoid any chunky running shoes.
What do I wear with a running sneaker when traveling?
You could absolutely wear athletic wear like leggings and a sweatshirt, but I did a more put together look with BLACK JEANS, a simple lightweight STRIPED TEE, and a LEATHER JACKET.
I tried on a pair of blue jeans with these sneakers, and it looked fine, but I think the black jeans look more sporty-chic. You could also do a pair of super dark wash jeans!
These non-athletic sneakers are by far my most comfortable shoe.

What do I wear with a non athletic sneaker for travel?
Honestly, you can wear anything with THESE SNEAKERS. I’ve worn them with dresses, blue jeans, black jeans, white jeans, skirts, shorts…you name it. They’re a slim, white sneaker so they really go with anything.
For a cute and comfortable fall outfit, I chose these BLANKNYC JEANS (I cut off the front of the hem so they’re slightly shorter), and paired them with this cute BUTTON DOWN THERMAL TEE.
I tied the tee at the waist, but you could half tuck it, fully tuck, or leave it all the way untucked.
