OUTFIT 3: BUTTON DOWN  ||  JEANS  ||  PLATFORM SANDALS  c/o RACK ROOM SHOES (on sale for under $30!)  ||  CROSSBODY BAG

There are so many good trends this spring and today I’ve teamed up with Rack Room Shoes to share some of my favorite sandal trends for this season, and how to style them!

1. Fringe. Fringe is everywhere right now, and it’s one of my favorite trends. I love the subtle boho vibe it adds to any outfit, and it’s perfect for festival season that’s going on right now. But to keep it a little less boho and a little more mom-friendly and chic, I paired these cute fringe sandals with a pair of skinny jeans, a pretty blouse, and a chic crossbody bag, but chose the top and bag in earthy tones to match the boho vibes of the sandals.

2. Gladiators. I love gladiator sandals, but the knee high ones can be tricky to style since they’re such a dramatic shoe. These little ankle ones are a great alternative because they’re a good statement sandal without being as bold as a knee-high pair. The little wedge makes them easy to dress up or dress down, and they’re perfect with a simple white spring dress like this linen shirtdress.

3. Platforms. I’m not usually a huge fan of platform shoes, but as soon as I saw these ones I instantly fell in love. They’re simple and neutral, but the detailing on the sole is so pretty and adds a little pop of pattern to your outfit. Plus, my wedge-hating husband complimented them after I wore them for date night, so that makes me love them even more. I styled them with a simple button down and skinny jeans for spring to add a touch of sophistication to balance out the youthful funkiness of the shoes.

Which style are you trying this spring??

All three pairs are absolutely amazing, in trend and I love the way you’ve styled those outfits around them. 🙂

  2. I love platform sandals! I’m going to check this out, because they’d go with nearly everything.

Did you distress the white jeans yourself? I noticed in the link they were not distressed, but your picture was. And I know that you love distressing your own jeans so I figured that was probably what happened!

Mine actually came with small holes in the knee — they’re the same brand and style as the ones I linked, the distressed ones are just not available anymore. But I did rip the knee holes to be larger than they were originally!

Can’t wait to update my shoe closet. Thanks for the inspiration.

I have basically zero sandals for spring and summer, I need to try and find some before the weather gets hotter!

Where are your sunglasses from?? They’re the cutest!

  7. Sarah Polk says:

Not really related to this post, but I know you can help me! What are some good online shops where I can buy flowy, tunic-style tops that are nursing-friendly but aren’t specifically nursing tops (which are mostly lame)?
    Thanks!

I love the wedge trend! Wedges are super comfortable and add a little height to my 5’2″ frame. Definitely the trend I am most excited about this season!

  9. Elyssa M says:

Love these sandals! the fringe ones are my favorite! I love that flowy sheer top too! Just out of curiosity, do you have a certain brand/style of tanks that you like to layer under sheer tops? Thanks!

    • Merrick says:

I’ve tried a few different brands of tanks, but haven’t ever found one that I absolutely love. Right now I use these ones: http://bit.ly/1U6xXwc. Sorry to not be more helpful!

      • Elyssa M says:

Thanks, Merrick! Might grab one or two of those! Thanks so much for taking the time to write this blog, I’m a momma to three boys too and don’t have a lot of time to shop/learn how to put outfits together. Your blog is a big help!

      • Merrick says:

You’re the sweetest — thank you!
