There are two things that my husband hates with a fiery passion, and is absolutely positive he will never be convinced otherwise. One is red lipstick, and the other is wedges. He had never mentioned his dislike of wedges until I ran across an article a few years ago sharing women’s shoe trends that men hated, and wedges were number one or two. According to the survey, men hated wedges more than Ugg boots. How is that even possible? Anyway, I shared the article with Philip and instantly he said, “oh yeah, I hate wedges. They’re so ugly.” And here I was with a closet full of wedges…
So although your man may hate your wedges more than your Ugg boots, I love them and they are huge for spring. There are so many good pairs out there, but I especially like the cork and espadrille styles. They’re a great trend to dress up with a skirt and blouse, or dress down with a pair of track pants and chambray, like I did here. They’re also one of the most comfortable styles of shoes and super easy to walk in. Winners all around — I fully endorse all wedge wearing!
Rack Room shoes has a bunch of other pretty wedges, all at great prices too. I love this neutral strappy pair, this cork wedge pair with a zipper embellishment, this brown pair that would literally go with anything, or this super similar pair but with a nice low wedge for more casual wear. So go get your wedge wearing on for spring — your husband will love you more than ever.

My boyfriend said the same 😀 “They´re looking ugly, I don´t like them. Why can´t you wear other shoes???” But I love my wedges and I will never stop wearing them, whatever he says…. They are so comfortable!

By the way: your outfit looks – as always – so adorable! I love your style and your whole blog! 🙂

    Love,

That is too funny. I can’t believe they hate wedges over Uggs! Your wedges look great with this outfit, and I hope you still have your closet full of wedges!

Hahahah, never listen to husbands when they’re complaining about our fashion decisions! 😀

You look beautiful and I like your wedges and cool pants very much.

  4. I’ve come to learn that my husband just doesn’t like anything “too fashionable”. But i do so I wear them 🙂 Love the wedges (and red lipstick)

I Love wedges! It’s (almost) the only kind of high heels I wear in the Summer. They’re so comfortable, perfect for a full day at work. I honestly have never asked my husband how he feels about my wedges, but if I did he’d probably say “meh”. He couldn’t care less about fashion. 😛

I can totally relate! My husband doesn’t like wedges either! Love the necklace with the whole outfit!

  7. Haha I never knew that but I love your shoes! 🙂

My husband hates them too, but I still have three pairs. Too bad, so sad!

  9. Whatever, if men knew the pain of wearing uncomfortable heels they would get over it! Wedges foreverrrrrr 🙂

Ps who hates wedges more than Uggs?!?! Proof that men don’t know anything haha

That’s so funny that your husband hates wedges! I’ll gladly be wearing the ones I snagged from your closet sale last year on repeat all summer long 🙂

My husband HATES them too! That is so funny. Every time I put a pair on I wait for his comments. I don’t get it. You would think he would hate the metallic silver oxfords I wear, but nope, it’s wedges.

  12. Bekah says:

That’s so funny! My husband absolutely hates pointed toe shoes! I’m glad my husband likes wedges because they are so comfortable!

Ha ha! This post made me laugh 🙂 I think there are probably a lot of trends in women’s fashion that men hate 🙂

  15. Ha really?! That’s so funny, I never would have guessed. I love wedges, I find them much more comfortable than heels.

I did not know that about wedges!! Whatever, I’ll keep wearing mine 🙂

I love your blog. I also love those pants, but not the price tag. Any chance you can post a tutorial to recreate these? I would be forever grateful!

  18. Anna D Kart says:

Haha! I think they just look like giant blocks to them… My husband is not a fan of red lipstick either because when i kiss him it’s all over his face…

This is so funny to me! I would have never thought of wedges being offensive. My husband hates clogs. On instagram I thought it must be the track pants! I keep looking at them in Target but I haven’t had the courage to try them on yet!

My hubby does not like pointed toe shoes, he calls them my witch shoes. Men just don’t understand.

My Husband hates all my “uncomfortable” Pairs of Shoes, because he just knows that the whining is going to start in 3…2…1… I think he even prefers Platform-Shoes and Wedges to them. Not Crocs though. But I hate them as well, so we are in peace about them. But he does not like red (or any colour) Lipstick either, because kissing. And Flip-Flops, because noise. Men…

  22. Absolutely hysterical because my honey hates red lips and wedges too. I think it’s something about them NOT elongating our legs…but I absolutely love them and find them so much easier to walk in all day. And the red lips thing…I love a good red lip for the Holidays…other than that, pink works best for me 🙂 happy Friday! xo

  23. Of course they’d hate one of the most comfortable type of shoe! Madness! Great style and I love that one of those wedges is called “Erryn”! hehehe
