Now that we’re officially heading into summer, I’ve decided it’s time to tackle my hair. For the last few years, I have done my hair a total of three ways — curly, straight, or in a bun. And since the summer heat makes my curled hair straight, and my straightened hair stringy, I thought it was time to get creative. Yesterday I tackled a little side french braid with a low side bun (inspired by Sydney), and was really happy with how it turned out.
Especially when we went to the park for playgroup and it was a million degrees and sunny. My would-be stringy, sweaty hair was majorly thanking me.
Now let’s see if I can make this more than a one time gig…place your bets.
I love how you wrapped the braid all the way down to the back of your hair line. It looks so pretty!
Ohh I LOVE your hair Merrick – so pretty! And that yellow tee is so fun 🙂

Love the yellow and aqua combo and the hair looks great!
funny – I just vowed to learn to braid my hair well! too cute 🙂
How cute does that look!?!? I try and I try to braid my hair, but alas, no such luck yet. Sometimes, if my hair is in a good mood I can sort of twist the bangs into something that sort of looks like a braid.
But mostly, my hair hates me and it always looks like crap.
I have hair envy. =)
Love the hair! I'm going to have to try it out!

Love your hair-do! So perfectly chic for summer.
I need to be patient with myself and teach myself to french braid because it looks so cute!!
so cute! when I try to do that to mine, my little hairs and bangs poke out all weird by the time I get to my ear… oh well, I can live vicariously through you! 🙂
oh and one more thing..pregnancy looks GOOD on you! {I am slightly jealous..but glad we aren't pregnant at the same time so you won't make me look bad! :)}
I stink at doing that braid, I am so jealous of yours!
This is such a cute hair-style! Perfect for summer. It's so hard to style hair when it's hot out.
I'm obsessed with this look!! Loving the yellow and white combo on top and loving the hair even more! I have extremely thick hair and having good updos in the summer is a lifesaver! Thanks for showing another version of Sydney's hair!
