A few weeks ago, I helped throw a little baby shower for one of my best friends, Kayla. With all the millions of good ideas out there, it was hard to narrow it down and come up with a good shower theme. Seriously, it was almost overwhelming. Finally we narrowed it down and eventually decided to base our ideas (a.k.a. copy the entire thing) off of this adorable “Sprinkled With Love” shower.

If you didn’t know (I did not), a shower for a second baby is actually called a “sprinkle,” rather than a “shower.” And since this is Kayla’s second baby, the theme fit perfectly.

We based all our decoration and food colors off of her baby girl’s bedroom — aqua, light pink, and fuchsia.  Thanks to all the great ideas from the shower we copied, everything turned out so cute.

Leanne was in charge of a lot of the food, and made these adorable (and delicious) cupcakes
My favorite thing that we copied was the sprinkle dipped glasses…they were a hit. Someone asked if they were pop-rocks, and that sparked a good idea. Next time we’ll have to do that instead of sprinkles!
I made the “sprinkled with love” sign using a circle cutter and a paint pen
The delicious ice cream bar with several different toppings to sprinkle on top.
The two main things I was in charge of were decorations (since it was at my house) and games. I’ve mentioned before that I’m not a big fan of most shower games, so I scoured the internet and pinterest and finally decided to do versions of the mad-lib questionnaire from this shower, and the baby trivia game from Emily’s shower (which I actually attended, and was so cute in person!)

As the guests arrived, they filled out the mad-lib card, giving advice to the soon-to-be mother of two. Most people went with serious or sweet advice, but some of them were hilarious and a bit snarky. Just what we like. Then after everyone had eaten, we played the trivia game — ten questions about the heaviest baby ever born, the woman who had the most children ever, and strange Chinese pregnancy traditions. It was great fun (although no one got more than 4 right…it was a tough quiz!).

It was a great shower, everyone seemed to have a blast, and Kayla got some seriously adorable baby girl clothes…I think I need to have a baby girl just so I can get clothes as cute as those. Happy baby!
