Today we’re talking about shoes…specifically, our favorite shoes. It’s hard to choose which shoes, out of all the shoes I own, are my very favorite, but my leopard pointed flats are right up there at the top. They’re just bold enough to create fun pattern mixing, and just subtle enough to wear with almost anything.

Here are three ways that I wear them:

1. Casual. For the weekends, or really any day of the week, a simple jeans and tee ensemble is taken up a notch with a cute baseball cap, a leather jacket, an edgy necklace, and, of course, a pop of leopard at the feet.

2. Date Night. Philip and I never do anything too fancy for date night (unless it’s our anniversary), so sticking with a blouse and jeans keeps me comfy while still feeling put together and pretty. Adding the leopard shoes creates a little pattern mixing (which I always love), and completes the outfit nicely.

sweater: target // top: kohls (similar) // jeans: american eagle // belt: cozy (similar) // necklace: c/o lisa leonard // flats: target
3. Dressy. Wearing a little black dress, smokey eye, and layered gold jewelry usually calls for a tall pair of heels, but I actually love the little pop of pattern that these leopard flats add. Plus, if you’re going to a dressy event, your feet will thank you for leaving the 4″ heels at home just this once.
dress: downeast basics (similar) // necklace: c/o inpink + forever 21 // watch: michael kors // bracelet: c/o hello fab // flats: target
Any other ways you would wear leopard flats? And I’d love to know pair of shoes in your closet are your favorite! (If you blog about it, leave a link in the comments!)

I do love my leopard flats. Really cute ways to wear them. I especially love how they add a nice pop with the all black dress.

  3. I love my Minnetonka studded moccasins! I wear them with dresses, skirts, jeans, capris, shorts, everything! They are so comfy and cute!

  4. Those are the perfect leopard flats! Are they comfortable?? Most of my shoes from Target are cute, but my feet hate me after wearing them for like 10 minutes.

  5. Leopard flats are definitely a workhorse in my closet! But my favorite NEW(ish) pair of shoes are pale pink cap toe pumps. LOVE them. I blogged about my first time wearing them back in February here:

Those flats look so cute, wishing I had a pair! I can see them going with just about everything. My go-to shoe always ends up being black flats, but I'd love to switch them up for a more exciting color/pattern.

Just found the cognac wedges you have at payless for $15 last week. Right now they are my go to shoe. They seem to go with everything. Love them more than my Toms!

I think yellow flats are super veratile–a pop of color that doesn't clash w/anything. Other colored flats are cute too, and red is classic, but I can't bring myself to pair them w/the whole spectrum of colors like I can w/yellow.
I had a pair of yellow open-toed flats from Target that I wore and wore and wore until they stretched out. I've been looking for replacements ever since, but it's tough to find what I'm looking for at a price I'm willing to pay, meh.

Merrick, I am loving your blog! The black hat… just. changed. everything! I love that casual outfit so much! Please show more!! I am so inspired. I need fresh ideas in my closet! Especially as a stay at home mom. I'm always so casual, but I love feeling cute + casual!

Love the leopard flats too. Target is out of them in the store and online. ggrrrr… I know because I ran to the store to find the shoes and the black hat… Luckly, the hat was there 🙂

    oh my, I can't choose which one I like best… they're all gorgeous !

THANK YOU for posting this!! I have been looking for a cute pair of leopard print flats! I must have overlooked these in Target or something, but I love them! I finally went to get them yesterday and guess what?! They were on clearance for $13!! Woo hoo! I love the cute unexpected stud detail on the back! =]

  17. I just invested in a pair of leopard flats & I have to agree, they are game changers! Love seeing the ways you have rocked them – inspiration galore!

I have those exact same leopard flats from target, and they're are ALWAYS my go to. They literally go with everything. It took my awhile to find ones that I really liked, I was thinking to myself the other day, how upset I'm going to be when they're worn out! Cute ideas as always, Merrick!

I love your blogging style and how you put your posts together. I've learned a lot from you and I will try and apply it to my little blog Black Flats I lost access for a while and I just started building it again 🙁 so much to do. Anyway I want to thank you for the time you put into your website and I hope I can be as good as you one day 🙂

  20. I liked that you were able to pair so many outfits with those cheetah print flats. It seems like a good thing to get a good pair of shoes for casual wear. It also looks like you can dress these shoes up as well.
