cardigan: target
dress: target maternity (circa 2009)
belt: cozy
flats: h&m (hand me down from little sister)
For some reason I haven’t been feeling like sewing the last few weeks. Pulling out the sewing machine and all my projects just seemed like SO much effort; plus I was reading a bunch of good books that I couldn’t put down, so sewing got put on the back burner for a bit.

Then it hit 90 degrees last week, and my baby bump was right in the middle of the “almost-a-bump-but-looking-more-like-a-muffin-top-or-tire” phase, and I couldn’t find a single thing in my closet that didn’t make me feel awful and was lightweight enough for summer.

So now I’ve got a major sewing itch and a million ideas for summer tops, skirts, and dresses (that would work for maternity and non) flying through my brain. This weekend I’m fabric hunting like a crazy woman, and over the next few weeks I’ll be pumping out projects and tutorials like nobody’s business.

Brace yourselves.

Yeah for some maternity related sewing tutorials! I am 22 weeks along and I am with you and the "everything makes me feel awful or is too hot or doesn't cover the girls enough to wear out in public" problem. I am looking forward to your tutorials.

I love this look! You are so adorable! Random question: can non-pregnant women get away with wearing maternity dresses? Would you ever wear (or have you ever worn) this dress without a bun in the oven?

Can't wait for the upcoming posts!

  22. Renee:

My mom got me hooked on Kate Morton books! I've read The Distant Hours (best novel I've read in years), and The Forgotten Garden (also fantastic). Then for my bookclub, I read The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery (so sweet). I also recently read Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand (so amazing).

    Happy reading 🙂
