For the last few weeks, our dryer has been on a downward spiral. It started having trouble turning when it was filled with a big load, so I started splitting each washed load into two, and running those two smaller loads separately in the dryer. Then, it couldn’t even handle half a load. And then not even a third.

The straw that broke the camel’s back was when I put two shirts in there, and it would not turn. I considered kicking it, but then I remembered that we’d bought it used (with the washer) for a total steal five years ago, and it has been faithful to us for that long. So rather than kick it, I bid it a happy farewell and jumped for joy when our brand new one showed up on Saturday.

One huge load of whites, forty-five minutes in the dryer, and everything came out completely dry. New dryer, you were worth every penny. I’m actually excited to do laundry this weekend — a total of four loads sounds a lot better than the sixteen (!) that I did last weekend.

Happy Monday!

  1. Cute top and I like how you paired it with the pink pants 🙂 I felt the same way about getting our new dryer! It's amazing how something I dreaded doing before brought me so much happiness just to see my clothes dry properly! lol

Yay for a new dryer! I live an apartment with NO washer/dryer, boo. I take it the apartment building next door and use their laundry room, ha. The chevron top is so cute on you, Merrick!

What a pain! I absolutely ABHOR doing laundry (with a passion), and put it off as long as possible. Husband even pointed out to me that I get grouchy whenever its time to start folding laundry the other day… and I htought I had hidden it so well.
    Your top is super adorable.

  10. You should have just been like the Amish and started to line dry–all around your house, of course, since you don't have a yard. Maybe this sacrifice would have given you the ability to make really delicious pretzels.
