Gosh, I’m so behind on this. My sweet baby F is nearly nine months old, and here I am finally getting around to seven and eight month posts. In fact, I didn’t even get a photo of him on the couch for seven months, so I’m making do with a little photoshoot we did for some DIY stamped baby leggings I posted over on One Little Momma.

At eight months, here are eight things about Buck.

  1. He is rolling all over the place, and is no longer safe on any raised surface.
  2. Along with rolling, he scoots backward or around in a circle all the time, much to his dismay. He just can’t seem to figure out how to get his body to move forward. All in good time (I’m in no rush).
  3. He went from laying on his tummy to sitting up for the first time yesterday!
  4. We have teeth!! About three weeks ago his bottom left tooth popped through, and the bottom right made an appearance only a few days later. And happily no nursing bites yet.
  5. He has the worlds most hilarious and annoying high pitched scream, and if he doesn’t get his way he tries with all his might to burst your ear drums with that squeal.
  6. After some major sleep regression over the last few weeks, we finally made him cry it out this week. It was the worst night ever (the high pitched scream could not be muffled by fans, pillows, or closed doors), but for two nights after that he slept all the way through the night. Cue the Hallelujah Chorus!! Let’s just hope he keeps it up.
  7. His very favorite toys these days are balls. Philip is thrilled, to say the least. He’s hoping to have at least one coordinated and sports-loving son, and it looks our brainiac first born will not be it 🙂
  8. I get stopped everywhere I go, and I mean EVERYWHERE! and people tell me he is the cutest baby they’ve ever seen. At first he had major stranger anxiety and would burst into tears the moment anyone got in his face, but he’s since calmed down and has even started flashing smiles at a lucky few. The sad thing about this is that Peanut is almost always in the stroller or cart too, and no one even notices him. We’re trying not to make a big deal about it, and he doesn’t really seem to notice yet, but I do feel a little badly that he’s repeatedly overshadowed by this blonde haired, blue eyed beauty of a baby.
And in case you’re interested, here’s all eight photos from the last eight months!

Awww, charming little tyke, isn't he?

About your last bullet/item in your list: I am an identical twin, we both still have very very white-blonde hair. We have an 18-months younger sister with mousy-brown hair. When we were kids she was ignored ALWAYS beceause people could not stop cooing over "The Twins!!" If "OMG" had been a thing back then it would have happened. A lot. My Mom always made sure to introduce my little sister to complete strangers, "these are Heidi and Erika and Liesl, she's just 18 months younger" and make sure to say something nice and special about Liesl to the stranger. She never said nice things about Erika or I, but I don't remember that at all. Liesl, however, has distinct memories of hearing my Mom say lovely things about her to strangers who would not have otherwise even noticed her existence.

It's not a perfect system, but it is something our family did and the long-term, adult-age memories seem to suggest that my Mom did the right thing.

    He's just adorable!!

And I have to ask, since you said you are nursing him…how do you easily nurse in some of the dresses and tops that you post on here? I'm currently nursing too and have been shying away from dresses since I can't easily pull them up without giving the whole world a show!! My second one (I also have two boys!) is only a month old and I would love to not shy away from dresses for the next 11 months 🙂

    • I wear some stuff to church that I can't nurse in, but I just make sure to feed him before we leave and then I can pull it up when I'm back in the privacy of my own home after church. But if I do go somewhere and need to feed him, I make sure the neckline of my dress is stretchy enough to pull down or has nursing access of some kind! A lot of dresses do have stretchy enough necklines, which gives you a few more clothing options!

      Good luck!

Adorable boys, both of them are… But you have got to admit that babies are cutest when they are younger, perhaps that is why more attention goes to Buck now. Once they are older, this situation wont occur in my opinion.
