cardigan: cozy fashions, top: old navy (shop), belt: cozy fashions, jeans: abercrombie (altered), leopard flats: steve madden via Plato’s Closet

Please don’t tell me I’m the only one with a receding hair line. My hair hasn’t grown in those high temple spots, um, ever. Why, I don’t know…but I’m not a fan. The way I see it, it’s either implants (too much money), rogaine, or no buns. And when I haven’t washed my hair in three days, a bun is very, very necessary.

Looks like my only option is rogaine. Words I never thought I’d say.

  1. LOVE that outfit! You look so cute! Omg, THANK GOD, I seriously thought I was the only one. We are receding hair line twins. Seriously, I refuse to wear my hair in buns like this because I think I look bald (overdramatic) but still! haha too funny

  2. Annie says:

Hahaha – this totally made me laugh! I think the bun looks cute anyway 🙂 And this outfit is adorable – love the belt, and the flats, and the colors – the whole thing really 🙂

I love the cobalt blue top paired with your mustard cardi, beautiful color combo! And your peep toe leopard shoes are too cute.

  4. Those colors are beautiful together!! My hair basically does the same thing, but I just don't care!! I either hide it with bangs or a headband. Did you know that higher status girls/women in the 15th Century would pluck their hairlines because the look was 'in.' Crazy, right?

I cannot get over the color combination of the cardigan and top. Yellow is my very favorite color, and I just adore it paired with that blue.

My first thought was "What a cute bun!" Definitely not anything about receding! 🙂 You look amazing, as usual. I envy that cardigan every time you use it in one of your outfits.

  6. Teaka says:

Honestly I wouldn't worry about any hair loss. I have the same problem and I find that bangs or other styles like that can hide my rather high hair line. I use to be overly aware of it until I realized nobody noticed it until I pointed it out to them. Haha so silly.
    I love the cute bun!

  7. hahaha. I don't know if I would have noticed had you not pointed it out. What I did notice is that your shirt is from Old Navy!

  8. Britty says:

Haha I'm the same way, too! I hated it for so long, but now I've come to terms with it. And how funny, I am wearing my hair just like that today, and the first thing out of my mouth was: "hm, not so great for the bald spots". haha

  9. Rachel says:

Oh that is good to see. I have the same problem. And despite my relative youth, that's where all my gray hairs are . . . right in my receding bald spots (just adds insult to injury). Glad it's not just me! Don't worry, you look great, as always 🙂

  10. WicketsMom says:

Great outfit! You might want to try a vitamin called Biotin to make your hair grow. I take 5000 mcg's (recommended amountJ) and my hair and nails grow like crazy. 🙂

  11. Haha! You make me laugh. You look cute in a bun, but you only gave us a side view of the receding part, so I'm sure it doesn't look bad straight on!

Love your leopard flats. I just picked some up at Target yesterday!

  12. Loren says:

I'm not sure what it is exactly but I love the combo of bright blue & yellow.
I wouldn't say my hair-line is 'receding' but I definitely suffer from 'five-head' I've head it gets worse after having a baby, so I'm a little terrified I'll go bald after.

  13. I have the same hairline! And after going on birth control, I lost a ton of hair, only making the recession worse! So I have gotten pretty crafty at concealing it when I pull it back in a bun. Try pulling the hair just above it loose and then pin it to where it just loosely covers it. It doesn't completely hide it but it makes it much less noticeable!

  14. Kelly says:

Don't worry, my hair is like that too – I hate pulling it back but some days I need to… like today… lol
Cute look, I love the colours!

  15. Rhiannon says:

I have a receding hairline too! I almost never wear my hair up because in that spot I have tiny wispy hairs that are really light and go all over the place.

  16. Virginia says:

Adorable! I love a mustard cardigan. You made this very wearable for the changing season!

Dude, your crazy! It's funny the things we notice on ourselves!

  20. Made by Niki says:

You are not the only one!! Now I know I'm not the only one, I have a widows peak that turned into a receding hairline, especially after my son was born, I lost so much hair. I haven't tried Rogaine but I have tried the Ovation Cell Therapy and it helped a little, I never though of Rogaine, might just try it.

  21. I think you pull off the top knot just fine!

  22. Nyree says:

Your outfit is very cute and I love the color combo:) Now as far as the hairline. Try massaging castor oil along your hairline before you purchase Rogaine. It's much cheaper and has been proven thousands of times over to grow and thicken up hair!

  23. Becky says:

I have the same trouble, but it's not receding, I'm just thin at the temples, always have been. I usually have bangs that disguise it. That being said, it seems to be a problem for those of us with very fine hair……let us know if the rogain (or castor oil) works!!

  24. Ky says:

I totally have the exact same hair line! It's such a pain. I never wear my hair pull back unless I have a side part.

  26. I love the print of your top. And I'm jealous that you are wearing open-toed shoes!

  27. Nnenna says:

I love the color of your sweater- it's so pretty!

  28. ruthie says:

I love yellow sweaters! Cute outfit. I also love to remake clothes. Just turned a BIG, long skirt into a pencil skirt and I love it. Thanks for the great ideas on remakes.

  29. Kelly says:

I have the same hair line! Who knows why hair doesn't grow there! By the way, I didn't even notice yours, my first thought was "how cute is she with her hair up!"

  30. Instead of Rogaine (which you have to use for life, otherwise the hair falls right back out), try castor oil, like Nyree suggested. Rub it on the spots and try not to get any in the rest of your hair (it's sticky), and it stimulates your hair to regrow after 2-3 weeks. It's in most hair regrowth products anyhow. I used it to thicken my overplucked eyebrows with the "Heritage Products" brand I got on Amazon. BTW, love the blog!!!

  31. CocoaJones says:

My hairline does the same thing! I get super insecure about it, too, but if you hadn't mentioned it, I would have never noticed! You look adorable! Keep wearing your hair back and be confident! 🙂
