Boyfriend jeans are so trendy right now, and there are so many amazing pairs out there. But although I love distressing probably more than most people, some pairs tend to have full holes up on my thighs, which I want to keep covered up.
Instead of shying away from a killer pair of jeans (like these) because of a hole up higher than you’d like, try a patch! It’s such an easy quick fix that you’ll have done in less than ten minutes.
Step 4. With the jeans still right side out, slide your pants leg carefully onto your sewing machine and sew around the hole to secure it in place. Use a small straight stitch and go back and forth in a zigzag pattern, on and off of the edge of the hole.
It’s best to make your stitches random so the patch blends nicely with the rest of the jeans. Also, make sure you don’t sew too much over the frayed edges of the hole since that makes it more obvious. You can see how I did my stitches below.
Wonderful casual outfit! I like your jeans and bag so much!

I really need to do this – i have too many jeans and denim shorts that the distressing has ripped in the wash and I feel the holes are a bit too revealing. such a good idea!

Great post! I’ve been slowly falling in love with boyfriend jeans, but many have such huge rips! I don’t like showing off that area, so this was very helpful! Thank you,
