This week we’re starting a Summer Outfit Guide. Every day I’ll be giving you some outfit ideas and formulas for summer events you may have. Remember these are all ideas to inspire you – today we’re starting with pool and beach outfits!
Welcome to the Summer Outfit Guide! Every day this week I’ll have some outfits for specific summer outings and events. These posts are meant to help you when you have a pool day, wedding, BBQ, work day, etc., and can’t figure out what to wear. To start, I’m sharing some pool and beach outfits!
A great resource for any outfit is MY OUTFIT GUIDE where you can filter by occasion, dressiness level, and seasons to get hundreds of my outfits to help inspire you.
Pool and Beach Outfits
1. WATER PARK OUTFIT
If you’re headed to the waterpark this summer, here’s an easy outfit to replicate!
This Katfish romper dress is one of my all time favorite swim coverups. I have a few of them, and they’re so lightweight and comfy, and perfect for pool, beach, or waterpark days. I’m wearing a size small, and code MERRICK gets you 20% off.
This coverup dries really quickly, so I love it for the

2. COUPLE’S TRIP
If I’m headed on a solo beach or resort trip with my husband, I want something a little fun and special! This crocheted coverup is definitely not practical (make sure you apply sunscreen so you don’t end up with polka dot skin!) but it’s fun and a little sexy, and looks so cute with a white swimsuit underneath.
If I’m at the pool with my husband, I’m less concerned about waterproof shoes, since I won’t be getting in the water as much as if I was with my kids, so these braided flat sandals are fun and pretty and work for other non-pool outfits on your trip.

3. LAKE OUTFIT
At the lake, shorts over my swimsuit is my go-to coverup. They feel effortless and cute, and are easy to pull on and off depending on the lake activity.
Good water shoes are also a must! These REEF ones are perfect and easy to keep on because of the back strap! A wide brim hat is also a must, and although you could take any bag, a big WATERPROOF TOTE BAG LIKE THIS, or AN INSULATED BACKPACK LIKE THIS.

4. RESORT WEAR
If you’re going on a summer vacation to a resort, a comfy swimsuit you can stay in all day long is a must. Throw in some extra bum coverage on the suit, and you have a great option that keeps you comfortable and confident all day.
A button up dress like this one is also great for a resort, cause you can keep it open during the day, and then button up and add a belt or waist tie and wear it for dinner.

5. BEACH DAY
When I’m going to the beach, I like to have a comfy swimsuit and a cute coverup that I can wear to grab some dinner on the way home from the beach. Any of these outfits I’ve shown would work for that, but this cute white mini skirt is fun and unique.
Add some comfy sandals for walking in the sand or along the boardwalk, and a great insulated bag that keeps your snacks and your drinks cold all day on the sand.
