I hear from so many of you that putting together outfits in the morning is stressful, and you just don’t know where to start.
One of the ways that I make it fun and easier for me is to choose a starting point — pick one piece that inspires and let that piece dictate the rest of the outfit.
Today I’m excited to be teaming up with Shane Co. to share their new colored gems collection, and share the looks I put together inspired by their beautiful colored stone pieces.
You might know Shane Co. from their incredible collection of diamonds, but did you know they also have pearls, colored gems, and lots of mixed metals?
I chose five pieces from their spring colored gems collection and used each of these to inspire a look, from a casual everyday look, to the office, date night, and church, to show you how these pieces truly work for any occasion and every season. The pieces can be a statement in a simple outfit, or add just a touch of glamour and sparkle to an everyday outfit.
Don’t be afraid to add some glam to your everyday
Day to day, I’m a simple jeans and tee/sweater/blouse type of girl. But that doesn’t mean I can’t add a little sparkle to those looks. In fact, accessories are what make those basic outfits and take them from simple to stunning.
Pair your jeans and cozy sweater with some gemstone drop earrings, or dress up your V-neck tee and jeans with a gemstone pendant necklace!

Let the jewelry do the talking
For my first look, I paired this aquamarine pendant necklace and bracelet with a simple linen dress. Against a white dress, the blue is able to stand out, and the v-neckline lets the pendant necklace hang perfectly down. If there was any pattern on the dress, the jewelry could get lost, so keep your outfit simple so the jewelry can do the talking!

Pair drop earrings with a turtleneck
A pair of drop earrings is perfect for church or work. They make a statement, but they don’t get in the way. I wanted the blue gemstone to pop, so I chose a turtleneck top in a navy stripe to draw attention up toward my face. Then I finished the look with a romantic pink skirt that perfectly complements the blue gemstone earrings.
This makes a perfect outfit for church, date night, or work!

Add a little sparkle to your button down
Work outfits can get a little dull sometimes, but you also don’t want to go over the top. A simple pendant necklace and stud earrings are the perfect pieces to add that little sparkle to your basic workwear, while still staying work appropriate.

Even a bold print needs a little sparkle
When you’re wearing something with a large or loud print, like this floral dress, don’t be afraid to add jewelry! It’s always the finishing touch. But you have to make sure you maintain the right balance. To keep thing from being too over the top, I stuck to a pair of stud gemstone earrings for just a hint of sparkle that won’t compete against the print of the dress.
