OUTFIT DETAILS: FREE PEOPLE TUNIC  | |  DENIM  | |  SIMILAR ANKLE BOOTS HEREHERE and HERE  | |  SIMILAR JACKET  | | SIMILAR BAG

As I’ve worked on developing my style over the last few years, I’ve come up with a few outfit combinations that are absolute no brainers for me. Ones that I repeat over and over again, that I know will be a win in my book every time, and that are my go-to. One of them is a tunic and skinny jeans. It’s one of those combos that I can wear for date night with heels, to the park with sneakers, to girls night with ankle boots, or at home with bare feet.

The challenge, however, is finding tunics that I love. I want something that’s flattering, visually interesting (since usually the rest of my outfit is pretty basic), and feels like me. Free People is one of my favorites for pretty and interesting tunics. They’re always sold as dresses, but since they’re too short for my taste I love wearing them over a pair of jeans. And even better, add a jacket and pair of fringe boots for a perfect fall look.

Tell me, what are your no-fail outfits?

Ha oh goodness, I have the same tunic/dress in blue and it’s sooo much longer on me! I wear as a dress and it’s not scandalously short on me at all! How tall are you? (I”m 5″1 1/4 haha) Looks great on you styled as a top but the difference on me and you is crazy!

I always love the way that you and Leanne wear short dresses/tunics over jeans! I notice it’s something you guys do often, and I think it is the cutest!

I like short dresses with jeans too but have a tough time styling them to look good. I wonder if you could do a post on this with what footwear to wear with what length short dress, etc. I’m a size 12 so of course that makes a huge difference in what looks flattering! What looks good on a size 2 might not look good on a size 12! I’m 5 foot 7 inches so dresses are always too short and I would like to learn to style them with jeans.

Hi Merrick I love how you can rock on those tunics? I also like to wear tunics and other loose tops!!
Maybe it will be fun if you can one day post a video of something that isn’t so easy to style on your youtube channel like tunics for example or other beautiful but tricky clothing pieces.
